Hello,

Why is it that when i close my door, and immediately touch the lock button on the handle, it doesnt lock, i have to wait like 5 seconds till it responds to my touch. Is this normal?

Passenger vs driver side, could be a key fob vs cell phone or distance issue.

Assuming the fob is in your front pocket try switching pockets and see if the issue follows.

My theory on this. Just like when you shut your vehicle down and there is a delay on the radio. The vehicle has to go through certain sequence to shut down before you lock the doors. If I wait 5 seconds it works every time. Hence why when you walk to the passenger side it locks. The other day I opened my passenger door to get something out of it, it didn't lock immediately. I had to wait. Just a theory. No tech has told me this is the case, maybe someone at Ford could confirm? But I doubt it. But we are all impatient myself included.
