No! Not at me; my GT!

Fairly windy (again) today; steady 20 MPH with 30-35 MPH gusts. Watching TV this PM when I hear a God Awful wracket outside. Got up and looked out to see a honkin' big tree limb had broken off the ancient Maple tree that's between my driveway and the neighbors.

Missed my GT by 3 feet! w00t! Had another big limb break off about 3 years ago when I still had my Focus RS. that one landed in my driveway but mostly parallel to the curb. Whew! Contacted a tree removal company last yer about taking that decrepit old Maple down. The owner called me back about 1430 hours; DRUNK [yea; at 2:30 in the PM---NOT a good sign ] Tells me he wants 4 K to cut it down and haul the remains away. Hhhhmmmm???? Drunken lumber jacks, chain saws, and a giant Maple. NOT a good combination! I passed on that generous offer.

Contacted my neighbor (the black pick up in the photo); who was away today; and let him know about the limb and suggested he might want to move his F150 at his earliest convenience in case the remaining big limb broke off too. He thanked me; came home and moved his truck up into the yard.

Wow! Ten years ago it was a bit windy and I heard a thump right about where I was sitting. Went outside and a limb of a tree landed on the roof above where I was sitting. No damage was done. But all I had was a tomahawk and greenwood saw. So I worked on it until the pieces were small enough to move by myself. The time I spent in the Scouts sure came in handy.
