You actually agreed to further tracking if you signed up for a Ford loan.

I'd also suggest just because other stuff is done without your conscent doesn't mean throwing in the towel and doing nothing is just as good.
If they have the ability to do this. Why isn't there an ability to track the car via GPS if its been stolen?

They can. Ford calls it "Stolen Vehicle Services".

Interesting. But is it available for the Mustang? Because in the FordPass app in Connected Services all I have available is services for the premium navigation and Alexa.

I also have Premium with the 401A package.

Turning off data sharing about vehicle driving etc does not prevent them seeing what you are doing in case of accidents etc. It simply means they don't need a signal to analyze your data.

I'm struggling to find the beef that people seem to have with this addendum. If you have opted to default on the loan that you signed up for, then obviously Ford Motor Credit is going to want that vehicle back.

Maybe just uh... make those car payments on time so you don't have to worry about this?

They gotta know where to send the repo man! This is pretty standard on most lease/finance contracts now

I turned it off and it disabled Alexa. I have found the built in Alexa to be very useful, so I turned it back on. I also don't carry my key with me and leave it in the car. I lock/unlock the car with the Ford app on my watch. I have made the personal choice to give up my privacy for these conveniences. So far they haven't called the cops on me for my driving.

Paid cash. I didn't give consent and disabled "driving habits including braking" when registering and in the app. Your forward facing camera is capturing data too. It's doing more than keeping your car centered in the lane. My insurance company hasn't contacted me either, but I suppose they could and say hey, we see you drive over a hundred miles an hour consistently. It wasnt on a racetrack. You are a "risk". I'm largely against data aggregation. Not trying to be paranoid but this is slowly creeping into other aspects of our lives. Imagine not being able to receive health care because you drink too many milkshakes or consume too much fried food. They already deprioritize alcoholics for liver transplants 😂 Your connected car and phone can place you at the scene of a crime.
