Hello all! Writing this I'm aware that interior temperatures and how it feels can be a personal thing, as I understand (but happy to be corrected) modern systems aim to have the interior feel like the set temperature rather than be the set temperature. I didn't see a note of this in the handbook.

Anyway given that how I feel a temperature is probably different to everyone else, it feels like my base '25 EcoBoost fastback is overcooling the interior, relative to my '20 Fusion at least. I could use a thermometer for the interior but I think the results would be meaningless as I didn't try this in the Fusion for a comparison.

Has anyone experienced this? Or as I'm able to afford one these days, I'm entering the age where we feel the cold more..?

I found a solution to this issue. Climate control in the automatic mode and increase (or decrease) the temperature setting to the temperature that provides me comfort. I also adjust the automatic setting to 1, 2, or 3 bars thus allowing the low, medium, or high fan speed when more rapid adjustment is needed to reach the set temperature.

Seat temperature cooling and heating can have a big impact also.

I had a situation about a month ago where my Mustang was blowing ac cold air and the ac was not turned on and was not in auto mode and the ambient was roughly 75 degrees :inspect:

I may be imagining it but I'm sure I've read in the handbook that under certain circumstances the a/c is engaged automagically by the caraway from using demist mode, even though the driver has shut it down. My '08 UK Mercedes A-Class did this too, and it was an oddity that I figured had a good reason.

@DT-GT Yessir, I experimented with this as sometimes having the slowest air setting is more comfortable - I get a little bit of colder air coming into the cabin. But sometimes it's not so much colder as Arctic Tundra cold, so putting it onto a higher fan setting is more comfortable.

I forgot to include earlier that now that I’m in my 70’s I find that I need warmer temperatures — in the Mustang, in my Outback, at home, and wherever I go. So in my case it is ME that needs warmer temperatures!

Yup.

The Mustang has automatic climate control, the only thing we can really override is turning it completely off. I understand this can be suppressed in FORSCAN.

And yes, I have to say that the '24 Mustang has the most powerful AC of any vehicle I've owned. I picked her up from just outside Waco in July, '24. It was 104-106 air temperature and not just on the Mustang thermometer, it was legit that hot- forecasted, and for once the weather people were right. I've never had to do this; On the way back, about 20 minutes into the trip south on TX 130, I started getting cold. Like really cold. This was my first frustrating experience interacting with the touch screen controls. I eventually settled on 78 on the temp setting to achieve a cool, but not ridiculous cabin temperature. For reference, I have good heat tolerance, I usually don't bother with AC until high 90's and even then if I'm steadily moving, I won't use it.

My wife is kind of my polar opposite, she would rather be cold than hot so the first real trip we took I set it at 74F worked up to 76 and she felt like that was good.

Thank you for the link - I promise I searched for relevant topics first! And it's good to know that I'm not alone. It may be possible to recalibrate the system but if I'm not alone, I'm good with adjusting the temperature higher.

I can confirm this too.

I have mine set between 24 and 26 Deg C. Even on the lowest Auto setting the fan blows quite hard so sometimes I have to manually set the fan speed to 2 or even 1.

In the Porsche it would be set to 23, in the Audi 21-22 Deg C, which is quite normal for the human body.

HOWEVER, my wife has her temp mostly 2 deg C lower than me :p

This is great to read. I mean the bit about having the system showing a higher temperature than other cars! It might be a calibration issue (for all Mustangs!).

I first used the low fan / low (high) temperature trick in my UK A-CLass, and depending on circumstances have used it in different vehicles over the years...
