I have a whole set of + .5mm sockets for tire work

Fords, and others in the Northeast or where there is salt tend to have the lug nuts swell due to corrosion between the chrome cap and the actual lug nut.
Amazing. I've never seen them here. I've found an AF or whitworth size often does the trick

Steelman makes them , among others.

the sockets were dirt cheap.

I needed them for a car in FL that came out of NH, so I bought the most common sizes and had a second set shipped to the shop in NH

They have saved me so much time and trouble they are on the "best bang for the buck tool" list.

In the US, unless you are a specialty shop working on older English cars we never have Whitworth tools.

Fractional, Metric, maybe screwdrivers in J.I.S. if you work on Japanese bikes

When I started in the trade everything was either AF or Whitworth. Most of our cars were English.
A huge PIA.

When I started, everything was fractional, then GM made cars with both fractional and metric, then there was the foreign invasion, now it is mostly metric except for Harley Davidson motorcycles and old cars, and we do a lot of old cars
