What’s the sound difference between deleting the cats on stock headers vs getting catless longtubes installed? Just wondering if it’s worth saving the $$ if I’m wanting to go catless. any sound clips would be nice 🤘

Both are ‘technically’ illegal for road use but and however, shorty headers vs long tubes may help shed some insight.

Deleting the stock cats isn’t really “a thing” one of them is part of the OEM header.

here is headers into the stock active back/resonator

Longtubes with cats are going to be louder than stock manifolds without cats

Guys cut them out and weld them back up. 2M sells a set of flanges. And I've seen people use a 2015-17 exhaust manifold on that side as well.

Yeah that’s good to know that removing the cats on stock wouldn’t be as loud as catted lth. That just leaves me with one option then 😂 how much should an install cost? I was quoted 1800$ just for the install

The stock cat is welded to the manifold so it would require cutting. If I started doing the entire process of replacing the manifold for a 15-17 one, I would just get headers.
Off-road headers will be significantly louder than stock at WOT. At idle, it is not as significant of a difference.

We offer our headers made by Kooks and they have perfect fitment and great quality.
