Can I quiet the exhaust

I really appreciate the suggestions above including reprogramming the wife. She’s been a good sport over our 60 years of marriage so she’s been through lots of my noisy vehicles. The loudest by far (and highly illegal) was a Mazda RX4 with headers. It sounded like an angry wasp and pegged my sound meter. I think my dear wife will get used to it while I explore my options.

I read somewhere that Ford wanted 5 grand just labor to put the parts in. Maybe you could get small really stubby resonators before your main resonator. A guy here has installed a Steeda H-pipe, and the car was still a bit too loud, so he had Vibrant 12" x 4 3" in/out. He says there's no drone. I have the same car and H-pipe, so I'm waiting for him to post a video. I had Cherry Bombs a as mufflers in a whipped 24 GT, and it was real loud. I bet Vibrants would be a good idea for you. I like deep and not raspy sound.

The issue is going to be the cold start as opposed to when it’s warmed up. My wife complained after I removed the resonators for the x pipe our neighbor who is a senator was going to complain. He in fact stopped me the other day to tell me how good it sounded. Crisis overted- without active exhaust, your only option is more resonators I think

I'm new to my 2025 Mustang GT (without switchable exhaust mode) and enjoy it so far, but my wife complains that it shakes the house when I start it. I'm not new to performance cars, but I must say it's a bit loud and I worry that the neighbors will be upset when I start it on Sunday morning to buzz down to Cars and Coffee. Is there an after-market solution or can the optional exhaust system with sound modes be fitted. I'm afraid to ask what the cost might be.

How about a Saleen GTX? Quiet as a Church Mouse. If you like the F-16 sound of Turbo cars you love this one. Engineered for sound by Saleen, chirps wheel in nearly every year. Screams like an F-16, and looks so good you may take a bite out of it confusing it for a candy apple. Fastest car in the road. I hear it'll do 0-60 in the 3s.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the car!

So coyotes are VERY loud on cold start up. It is a fact of life. Unfortunately on a GT with no active exhaust there is no quiet mode that will help. And even if you had it, the improvement is only marginal.

If its an absolute deal breaker, I suggest you take your car into an exhaust shop and ask them their recommendations. Most likely some small resonators before the mufflers, or just quieter mufflers will be the only option. Just understand that doing either will effectively neuter the exhaust note and restrict performance while driving around.

I say just tell the wife it's part of the charm of owning a Mustang and to get over it. And I'm sure the neighbors aren't as annoyed as you think. Enjoy the car and don't stress.

She got used to my other loud cars...she'll get used to this one, too.

Try to find pool noodles the right size for your exhaust tips (Walmart has some that are 2" diameter, Dollar Tree has ones that are 2.5" diameter).

If you set up your contraption properly (back into your garage, attach the pool noodles to a weighted object that you place behind the car and "plug into" the exhaust tips in the morning) you can get in, start up, idle down, and drive off without having to get out of your car or fiddling with the contraption.

Strange how many older people can't hear when you talk to them, yet when you whisper some bad to someone across them room they say "I heard that you young still wet behind the whipper snapper, why I oughta .....!" Sometimes I think they just act like they can't hear just to drive people crazy. I should talk, my left ear is all plugged up.

I've got that, can't hear a damn thing in a noisy room, but can hear a mouse fart in the next street on a quiet night.
And, being married for 22 years, I have the active hearing option.
