I have a soft spot for 1911's....5", 45ACP.....currently at 7

Bought books, stones, and files. Tore my first 1911 (sig scorpion commander size) down to the frame and rebuilt it completely with new oversized parts filed, stoned, and sanded to size. Such a great experience and sold it for a nice chunk of profit. Missed it so much but wanted something crazy so got a Coonan .357mag and wow what a great shooter! For .45acp I have my FH Herstal FNX45, another great shooter and runs so clean. Currently looking hard at Desert Tech's MDX in .308. LOVE me a nice bullpup.

Beautiful! I have the Emperor Scorpion in full size 5". I like Sigs too...have an M17 (civilian model) and P226. My most cherished 1911 is a 1945 Remington Rand 1911A1 that I purchased through the CMP lottery in 2019. That's a safe queen for the most part. Only put 50 rounds through it since 2019 and take it to the range on special occasions. The other six 1911s are newer models and shooters.
