DH Spoiler Installation at Home - GT 5.0

Hey All,

Thought I'd share my experience installing a generic dark horse spoiler on my GT, originally it has no spoiler at all so no holes existing in the trunk lid, which made it quite a harder than usual DIY.

I assembled the spoiler, and disassembled the car rear trunk lid and took out the camera and inner module. Then measured out the holes and drilled a total of 7 holes. And managed to put it back together.

I'll leave you with the pictures of before, the process and after installation.

The Before: it always bugged me that it looked incomplete without a spoiler, but it was a 12,000$ option for only a rear spoiler, black roof and heated leather seats which felt like a rip off.

The process:
Not an expert in DIY but youtube videos helped a lot.

The result:

Thanks Sultan, i'll private you where i bought it from, the seller in UAE seems to provide shipping to GCC.

But your current spoiler looks way better quality, If i were you I wouldn't replace it with a generic spoiler.

Thank you, Dark Horse is indeed available in Dubai, but I didn't see a reasonable added value over the GT for the difference in price ... 14 hp + spoiler + diffuser + badges for 22,000 $ extra... if it came with the Whipple I would have gone for it instantly.

Hi YAMENGT650. I wanted to ask if your spoiler was purchased from ford dealer with a possible part number PR3Z-6344210- EC or ABPTM and if so could you post a parts list for the spoiler.

I have a DH same color as your car and my spoiler had four rubber bumpers (two on each end) that touch the body when the trunk is closed. I lost one of the bumpers and ford dealers have no clue about this part as it comes from an OEM that makes it for Ford. Any help much appreciated.

Hey buddy, my spoiler is generic not OEM piece, so unfortunately i can't help with the part number.

But it did come with two of those rubber bumpers. But didn't find the wing close enough to possibly bump against the car body, so i chose not to install them.

I still have them if you want them, though shipping would cost more than they do.
