Because you pay for the car on delivery and your xplan eligibility is verified then as well as your eligibility for rebates and such. But iirc xplan receives a different priority in manufacturing.

True, though that will not be likely on the 2015 as another buyer will slot in behind you that will pay full price or more. On 2014 models, I would expect significant savings later this year that would be below xplan which I hope to take advantage of...
I do not believe that is fully true, there is an incentive to the dealer for selling x plan vehicles but I do not remember what it was, I think it is extra allocation. Was 10yrs ago when we bought our explorer that it was told to me so may be out of date info I admit. :shrug:
Present the pin when you walk in, most dealers accept it on most cars with few very exceptions on high demand ones. They have to show you the invoice with x plan price which is fixed and you are still eligible for rebates and such that are offered.
