Exactly.
She doesn't look old enough to have "own memories" that are anything but recent.
Not being able to see the substance behind the style (which was right for the times) is her way of not having to admit anything good about either of those earlier generations.

It probably would have gotten off to a slower start, but if it's any good it would pick up almost no matter what they chose to add to the 'Mach E' part. I mean yeah, choosing to use either 'Edsel' or 'Pinto' would more than likely hurt it, but I'd hope that nobody at Ford even mentioned those...
What I've said from the beginning has been if the Mach E was a good enough product, it wasn't going to need the 'Mustang' tag. And if it wasn't a good enough product, the 'Mustang' tag wouldn't save it.
Time will tell . . .

But like Toyota, Honda, and Nissan, Porsche came up with entirely new names for their SUVs. They left all of the 9xx model names alone. BMW has done much the same with their SAVs (they didn't use number-series, or M-series without an X SAV-indicator). How did it not make sense to Ford if they...
While the sub brand part may be true, neither Lexus nor Acura (nor Infiniti, for that matter) came into branding with any history of their own. Brand new names for . . . brand new brands.
It's clear that Ford only wants to build trucks and SUVs, but introducing any SUV flavor into the image...
Especially now that I don't have a commute (never mind a lengthy one), $7.50/US gallon for 93 might make me re-think some of my driving.
But that's not high enough to get me to consider replacing either of our current cars, even if I knew for certain that prices would never again drop much...
Maybe something will come of Porsche's synthetic e-fuel.
Porsche’s Synthetic eFuel Could Make ICE Cars as Clean as EVs (caranddriver.com)
Sure, it'll probably be fairly expensive, at least in the beginning (if it ends up being a successful alternate to EV). But it wasn't so long ago that we...
IOW, about half as many cars as people. That's a good enough estimate for me.
But when you look at how that population (and presumably an approximation of how those 2.8M cars are distributed) it's just as far from uniform there as it is in the USA. What's good for the more densely populated...
I stumbled across this little instructional video (after watching a short clip of somebody's track day driving). It's everything I'd need and nothing I don't. Makes today a good day because I learned something new.

That can be remedied.
Supplemental stiffening buys you more improvement when you're starting with a structure that isn't as rigid. I have a feeling that 10,000 ft*lbs/degree would be sufficiently stiff for a 2500-ish lb car on street tires and a suspension that was at least tolerable on...
Ridiculous comparison? Perhaps.
But I think the point is that differences are going to exist in the way different people choose their cars. At some point it's not going to matter whether an individual's preferences were completely beyond their control or if they were strong enough to be...
I'm all for some of the improvements that have been made since then. Tire technology, EFI, and improved chassis stiffnesses for starters. But I have fairly simple tastes, so I guess I don't look at all changes and developments in the same way as many others seem to. New for its own sake isn't...
You missed what I'm getting at. Look it again and pay close attention to the relationships between tire section width and wheel width. Turn-in response and steering precision generally improve as wheel fitments tend toward (or a bit past) what you'll see tabulated as maximum recommended for...
If it was a lb for lb swap, that would sound a whole lot better than swapping out maybe 700 lbs or so of ICE engine and transmission for 1000+ lbs of battery plus another 300+ lbs of motor + inverter. IOW, while all of the battery weight and its location helps pull the CG height down, it's...
One of the questions would probably amount to how much the net reduction in roll would amount to. Smaller moment arms but greater mass (and from that, stiffer springs). It's not all "gain".
BTW, I did watch your video link. Just to show you that I tend to look for different things, I saw...
