  1. Hands on steering wheel warning

Double-tap this button when you start your journey (and long-hold the bottom left button if you want to disable speed limit warnings)
  2. Rev Matching. Yes or no?

It is a PITA in the Mustang because of the pedal arrangement (at least in RHD models) and slightly grabby brakes. Try it in a MX5 Miata; it's an utter joy. Possibly the best car I've had for heel and toe was a Jaguar X Type, oddly.
  3. Rev Matching

I turned it off immediately and haven't turned it back on. I regularly rev match using my right foot, but, as you say, that's sometimes a bit obnoxious, and on those occasions I can change down gently and quietly. The pedal arrangement (on RHD at least) isn't great for proper heel and toe...
  4. S650 UK orders

Remarkably, there's an Adriatic Blue model in a dealership and for sale already: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202605082225536 I really like it.
  5. Spotted thread

I still haven't seen another S650 out in the wild.
  6. Ford secure ending

On modern rear wheel drive cars, the rear brakes can disappear trying to rein in the power. Could be that?
  7. Car forgets settings

This is why cars still need tape decks. That way, you could take a magnetic backup of the settings each night as part of a scheduled DR procedure 😉
  8. Ford secure ending

Mine was in for its first service today and they reviewed the recall while it was there. It definitely needs it and frankly it's pretty appalling. The factory used some sort of chemical seal around the scuttle, beneath the windscreen, to protect what's underneath, including the BCM, from water...
  9. OTA updates

My car installed an update last night and this morning I find it has reset a lot of the preferences back to factory, including: * Stereo set to Radio 1 * Instrument cluster set to default dials * Rev match turned back on * Early morning "quiet exhaust" setting turned off Fortunately, the...
  10. 2025 GT PP 6sp transmission rattle.

This is the 2k rattle, right? Well documented on the S550 over the years. Some say it's piston slap(!), others that it's the injectors. Mine also makes this sound. I swear it started doing it at 500 miles (now on 2500), but probably that's just when I first noticed as I can't hear it with the...
  11. Drift Brake - So who has tried it?

Thanks. I wonder why they couldn't do the same with the normal handbrake operation?
  12. Drift Brake - So who has tried it?

Is it instantaneous in its engagement? Reason I ask is there's one thing I find frustrating is when parking; I'll pull the handbrake in its regular setting and it takes about a second to engage, by which point, the car has started to move (it's a manual) and then jolts and bobs on its...
  13. S650 UK orders

My GT Convertible has been immortalised in review form (for a long as YouTube exists):
  14. Gearbox noise

Mine makes an unpleasant whine when stone cold in 1st/2nd, which can be totally removed by touching the clutch even slightly. It goes away so quickly with use that I don't hear it once out of my street. It doesn't sound like gearbox whine (in the straight-cut sense), more like a slipping belt...
  15. S650 UK orders

Niiiice! I nearly ordered a Molten Mag 'vert myself; it's a fabulous colour.
  16. S650 UK orders

Wow, I had no idea that was a thing. I did see the cover and assumed it was fuses or something. Thanks for the heads-up! Here it is on the MY24 UK-spec convertible. I'd be surprised if it had been removed for the MY25, but can't tell you for sure (sorry).
  17. S650 UK orders

Is the glasses holder in place of the wireless charger on MY25 models? Generally speaking, the interior mouldings are common across all markets, which is why the cup holders are pretty useless and you end up stroking your passenger's leg when applying the handbrake in right hand drive models...
  18. Spotted thread

I keep thinking I'll bump into (not literally!) Greg one day as we both live in Wiltshire, but it's a big county and the chances are I'd be buzzing around in my little Suzuki anyway.
  19. S650 UK orders

Agree. I keep a regular eye on what's appearing new on Autotrader and have only seen one Rapid Red, which is odd because it's a really nice hue. There was a special grey that I haven't really seen either - I think it was called Dark Matter Gray, which is going to be very rare too. The other...
  20. UK/EU Oil Specs vs US

Can't say I've noticed that colder climate today ;)
