I get it I had a 21 Sti that was making 530 whp 450ish tq. After swapping damn near everything on the car I had put like 30-35k into the car, and at that point it wasn't the easiest car to live with. I never want to deal with that headache again lol.
I debated on supercharging my dark horse, getting some sve forged wheels, headers, etc but its gets super pricey and truth be told im going to drive it the same way I do now lol. I added the ford catch cans, corsa HH pipe, removed the carbon traps, added think auto air filters, 20 % tint...
For the roof channel is a paint they have to repaint the entire roof. This also involves removing the front and rear windshield and reprograming the radar once reinstalled. Its a big thing, and not really worth it.
The auto factories bake the paint at something like 350 degrees which makes it cure properly and makes it more durable and resistant to elements etc. this is done before all the electronics and such are in the car. So when you go to a body shop if they have a really nice setup they may be able...
I know my paint has several issues but at this point im trying to get ford to refund me a couple grand for the issues. They approved the warranty repair however, they wont pay the only body shop in towns price. So ive have been fighting with them since jan and am at a stand still. The body shop...
Pulling the lids will just hurt performance if doing multiple runs. However, you’re absolutely right, you get the same gains for $120-$150 vs paying the 500-700 these companies want for their intake kits.
Ford approved the warranty to repaint my hood, roof, bumper and front fenders on my dark horse back in january. However, i live in a rural area there is one really good paint shop near me, and a couple that I wouldnt trust to finger paint. Ford refuses to pay the shops price to have it done...
Absolutely grab the pp, especially if you are going to be boosting it. If your budget is only 50k maybe look at a used mach 1 with 10-15 k miles. Otherwise try searching nationwide as you may have to travel 500-1000 miles to get the exact car you want. Also the active exhaust is really nice if...
When I had my sti I had no problem smoking gt’s that wernt boosted, all it took was a larger turbo, injectors and a downpipe. I also had an explorer st that was smoking mild bolt on gt’s, all it took was downpipes, intercooler and a tune.
Cap, hondas have probably the most buttery smooth shifting experience aside from maybe mazda. The tremec feels clunky by comparison. The tremec is a solid trans however, it is inferior to the trans from the subaru sti, both in how much power it will handle, durability, and shifter feel. When I...
How tf is the auto safer? You have more control over the car in a manual, in an emergency you can literally clutch brake along with the brakes to stop you a lot faster than an auto. You also aren't going to get any weird gear changes at inopportune times that potentially upset the balance of...
I have owned both, currently have a 25 dh 6spd, “had a 24 Gt a10”that was bought back as a lemon.
The auto was faster sure, but it was boring. The a10 does some weird stuff sometimes. When in manual mode there is a noticeable delay between when you hit the paddle and the gear shift, they also...
That heat wrap works both ways, it reflects heat from the engine bay yes and is useful while moving especially on boosted applications, however sitting still idling the heat that is inside the intake gets trapped inside. If you had metal intake tubes it would be worse.
All I know is I can play...
I would say you definitely notice a diff going from stock to a tune. However, them saying they notice 15 whp is wishful thinking. It starts becoming noticeable at 30whp, and becomes very noticeable in 50whp increments. The difference you notice in stock to a tune is just the improvement in tq...
