The lightning fast 7-speed DCT in the SC's is why their 0-60 time is 3.0 seconds and they can beat 5.0's with whipples with 800+ hp.
Shelby super snakes: 3.5 seconds. Shelby GT350's 3.8 seconds. The sheer amount of torque overwhelms the rear tires, and even with the 10-speed automatic, it takes...
With the top down, the windshield creates a strong stagnation and a large recirculation zone inside the cabin, and that recirculation produces continuous shedding of vortices that travel aft over the rear deck.
By the time the air reaches the spoiler the flow is already fully separated and...
Boring people buy cars that make them invisible.
A GT Convertible is the opposite of that. Same 5.0, same exhaust note, same ability to rip, except now the sky is the roof and every drive is an event.
I’ve got one. I drive it hard. I’ve never once felt boring behind the wheel of it.
You can...
These days auto insurance rates are based on algorithms, part of which is how often drivers of those specific vehicles actually crash or get stolen. Mustangs with V8's are generally cheaper to insure than both camaros and corvettes with V8's, so what does that tell you?
In my opinion, premiums...
I'm tempted. That 5 2 and DCT sound mighty attractive. And for probably the same price as a boxster, it's more useful with the 4 seats and won't cost a fortune to service. And while I still think the Shelby's look better, the engine in this case is more than just a coyote with a whipple...
Agreed, I thi k they should just call it the Ford falcon, the 4-door that the mustang was based on, but I get that calling it a mustang will help it sell.
If Ford is wanting to take some of Dodge's market share (chargers), a 4-door mustang would definitely do that.
And I understand them...
That makes sense, and I understand why people do it as a hobby, but after spending so much on incremental marginal improvement performance mods, it seems a supercharger that cuts 60-130 time in half is more bang for the buck.
I don't understand how anyone honestly feels a 30hp and 10lb torque increase on a car that already has 400+. That's much less than a 10% gain on both fronts.
I don't doubt these mods legitimately increase both, but I'm skeptical of whether many people actually feel a difference rsther than just...
Here's a couple. Car is currently in my garage and tires are definitely not clean but hopefully these photos give you the right idea with the different angles.

They don't make the kit for the convertible, but to get basically the same thing plus a little extra I got the G-Trac K-brace, jacking rails, billet vertical links, IRS bushing support, and IRS subframe alignment kit.
Had Steeda in Valdosta install everything and they did a great job. No issues...
Ha, I live in Florida too. Check this out, the Florida highway patrol entered a mustang this year in the state troopers' best looking cruiser contest: https://www.flhsmv.gov/votefhp/
The German cars' traction from launch is a game changer. A BMW M340i can beat my GT in both the 1/8 and 1/4. I sound like a broken record as often as I find myself having to explain these days that the mustang's limitation isn't torque or horsepower, it's traction. Then I try to steer the...
