  1. Dark Horse New Discs & Pads @ 5,400 miles

Unfortunately I turned up just as they'd completed the work and the report from the workshop hadn't come through. I might give them a ring to find out the exact cause. I was just pleased that it wasn't costing me anything. With my limited mechanical knowledge I had assumed warping, but I can...
  2. Dark Horse New Discs & Pads @ 5,400 miles

My Dark Horse has been in today to have new front discs and pads fitted under warranty. I've been experiencing steering wheel vibration on moderate to heavy braking since March. I've only been driving the car occasionally during Summer so only just got around to getting it looked at and fixed...
  3. Is this possible via forscan? (speed warning and puddle lights)

Yes, it was something like Easy Mode - I don't currently have Forscan installed so I can't check. I didn't make a note of the modules so you'll have to look through the main ones. I should also mention that if you enable the Walk Away Lock it works great but a menu option appears for it - if...
  4. Is this possible via forscan? (speed warning and puddle lights)

Sure, I assume you know how to use Forscan? I haven't changed anything with Forscan for quite a while now but my notes for all the changes I made and that worked are as follows. I hope they are self-explanatory...
  5. New Battery

Finally got around to buying a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger to keep my battery topped up. I've hard-wired a CTEK extension to make connecting it up easier (adding a fuse along the way). Done the same with my SLK - too many cars and not enough time driving them!
  6. New Battery

Problem with mine is that it goes to 'Remote features disabled to preserve battery' after a couple of days in the garage (or some such message), but the battery still works. A long motorway drive will sort it. I reckon if I take it in under warranty, they'll just say it's because I'm not...
  7. New Battery

Interesting that you're having battery issues so soon. My Dark Horse is the same. I put it down to the length of time is was sitting in compounds in the US waiting for export.
  8. Ford secure ending

Yes, I received my letter Monday.
  9. Pirelli tyres

I'm lucky to have a second set of OEM alloys with Michelin Alpin 5 tyres which I can highly recommend if budget allows. I ran them from the beginning of January to mid-March, and the grip was night and day compared to the Pirelli's. Probably overkill for the UK, but it gives me confidence in...
  10. Ford secure ending

I don't think they actually prise the windscreen up - its the seal between the windscreen that they prise down to get sealant in.
  11. Ford secure ending

Just picked it up after having the recall work done. Hood up and the only visible evidence of the black sealant is through the holes left and right on the cowl, where it looks neat. Probably not going to take the cowl off to have a proper look because I can do without the stress if it's a...
  12. Ford secure ending

Mine is now booked in for the recall work on the 19th. They've got a windscreen company coming in to do it, which seems like overkill from what I've seen of the recall work instructions. But at least it will probably be done correctly. Well, here's hoping.
  13. Ford secure ending

Mine was also in for its first service today. Car needs to go back in to have the recall sorted, but they are waiting for availability from a specialist company to remove and re-fit the windscreen. It seems the RHD fix is different to the LHD fix which has widely been discussed on these forums?
  14. Ford secure ending

Mine is in for its first service and the recall inspection on Monday. Will report back how it goes.
  15. Ford secure ending

But you're serviced by Ford America and we're serviced by Ford UK (as indicated by this being a UK thread). To my knowledge Ford UK hasn't sent any letters out, the only indication was in the Ford Pass app. A recall issued by Ford America isn't automatically replicated in other territories...
  16. Ford secure ending

Yeah, my recall was hidden away in the app. No other notification. But it is Ford, so...
  17. Spare wheel

Is the spacer just needed if the spare is going on the front? I bought the wheel from America and it came with the spacer but I just stashed it all in the boot without taking much note of the instructions.
  18. Spotted thread

Yeah, got mine mid-November and haven't seen another one on the road yet!
  19. Press park brake push handle down to release park brake

Yeah, that's where it's located for RHD models. Ford didn't bother with a redesigned centre tunnel for the RHD markets!
  20. S650 UK orders

For anyone interested, the part number for the bottom lip of the Dark Horse front bumper is PR3Z-17D957-BA (European Part Number 2602922) and it costs ÂŁ267 from a Ford dealer. :crying: I'll stick to reverse parking from now on!
