  1. S650 cancelled?

You don't need to "uprate" the 3.7 to enjoy it. They are better engines than many of the boat anchor 4.6 engines Ford made. Lighter and more powerful with a great high revving character to them. I owned a 2011 V6 Mustang and remember breaking the tires loose at ~55 mph shifting into 3rd gear...
  2. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

Interesting story - the author doesn't seem to understand the length of time between patent application and patent approval, though.
  3. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

There's a ton of extra room in our cars. I hope they make them smaller and lighter as well.
  4. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

The AMG looks more like a sway back than a fast back. There are two different angles with a weird looking junction between them. It looks like a Porsche at the bottom tacked onto a more typical fast back shape.
  5. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

I thought your post was really great in general, so of course I picked out the one statement in there I could fight with. :) Another reason change to transportation happens is due to crooked politicians making laws that force change even though people don't want the change. The ICE is...
  6. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

I 100% disagree with both of those statements. They seem pretty foolish to me, actually. I agree that it's likely that in the future some crooked politicians and greedy corporations probably will try to make me buy something I don't want. It's best for me to speak out publicly and fight tooth...
  7. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

That would be awesome. Either NA if the car was small and light enough, or with TT (assuming Ford won't be able to get enough weight out of the car to hit performance targets with 4.5 NA). You have to admit it would be sweet. I agree with this. TT V6 does nothing for me. They sound like...
  8. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

I'm sure there will be some people who think it's a good idea. My opinion is it's a terrible idea. I think cars are already too complex and expensive. And weight is the enemy of performance. I realize you can overcome weight issues with technology, but I don't want a Mustang with a little...
  9. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

Manufacturers like some of these CAFE regulations because they get an excuse for making the car more complicated and expensive. Meanwhile, real world fuel economy, emissions and long term waste/pollution aren't improved. Low information consumers don't realize that the wool is being pulled...
  10. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

I think we are saying nearly the same thing in two different ways. I didn't say the forums are Ford's only way of gathering information, or even imply that. And you are not saying that Ford doesn't listen to us, which is what I was trying to get across.
  11. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

I disagree with both of those statements. I 100% know that Ford monitors these forums and considers what we think. Ford knows that many of us choose to buy a Mustang because we love what it is. If Ford decides to build a Mustang that people no longer love, they will reap the results. Ford...
  12. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

They might as well call it the Probe and make it front wheel drive if they are taking away the V8.
  13. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

There actually are alternatives to fossil fuel that will work just fine in an ICE (ethanol and natural gas are a couple that could last a really long time while used in internal combustion engines - ethanol is even renewable). Those alternative fuels cost more than gasoline produced from oil...
  14. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

If it also weighs less than 3800 lbs and sounds as good as the Voodoo and Coyote, maybe...
  15. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

Just don't base your reasoning for wanting something on a false premise such as "We are almost out of oil.", or "hybrids are good for the environment." That's all I ask... and that the Mustang continues to be a performance bargain as well as fun to drive.
  16. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

 Funny! FYI - I also hate airbags and think the same thing about them. At least they rarely kill people any more... but we absolutely HAD to have a law requiring them in EVERY car. Billions of dollars for the auto industry. I'm all for self-driving cars as long as I have the...
  17. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

..the worst idea ever!! Just what we need, more complexity and weight in cars. :tsk: Hybrid cars - another scam by the big automakers to make new cars even more expensive!
  18. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

That was a lame contest with a foregone conclusion. It's dumb to spend $10K on the internals of a Coyote when you could spend less than that and get a lot more power using FI and stock internals. Regarding DOD, I'm ok with it as long as I can turn it off. Really we need to fix the source of...
