  1. Gas Guzzler Tax

true. But I try not to brag about how bad I am at clutch use and the frequent stalls that ensue. :)
  2. Gas Guzzler Tax

I'm aware of that. I read thousands of references, and don't bookmark them for later. If I happen to stumble across what I read, I will gladly post. Hmm, maybe I should just ask ChatGPT. It's read everything ever written so it should be able to regurgitate the article for me in summarized form. :)
  3. Gas Guzzler Tax

your sample size is too small/short. There were studies and tear downs at the fleet level that showed severely advanced wear vs control. No, I don't have a handy citation. It's a STUPID and ineffectual solution to a non-existent problem. You want to improve emissions in stop-n-go traffic...
  4. Is there an option for an audible alert for BLIS?

Software wise, it should be easy to hook the Lane-Keeping routines to resist (but not prevent) turn-in and also issue an audible if the lane-keeping is set to audible as well.
  5. Is there an option for an audible alert for BLIS?

but surely you did a head check before you even thought of pulling on the turn-signal stalk. :) I agree, a 98dB blast of a truck horn would be the proper audio "encouragement" to pay attention and re-check the immediate surroundings for the potential merge of 2 objects into the same space and...
  6. Michigan Wanted - 6 piston Brembo front caliper & rotors

why would a "drag racer" buy a performance pack car in the first place? Or for that matter anything with the strong-as-crystal A10 instead of the beefy as a truck 6-speed? minor looks aside, the S550 Brembos should be a slap-on and go for the S650. Call up Levittown to make sure.
  7. Gas Guzzler Tax

it's worth 1mpg is you're lucky. But it tears the beejeepers out of your engine so it fails much much sooner than it ever should. So it's an unmitigated disaster for the ecology. But when did that ever stop "well meaning" people. Your fellow Congress-scum voted to illegally cede their law...
  8. Gas Guzzler Tax

GM/Dodge had the decency to put a forced 1st-4th shift into their trans to 'cop' to EPA nonsense. Which was trivial to disable, or drive around by using some actual throttle in 1st gear instead of driving like grandma without her glasses.
  9. HP Darkhorse Wheels installed on Base Darkhorse

it's just looks. And lower (or not) doesn't address the OP "problem".
  10. HP Darkhorse Wheels installed on Base Darkhorse

it doesn't really matter. Mach1 HP was lower than the standard model as well.
  11. HP Darkhorse Wheels installed on Base Darkhorse

that's the S197 spec for 1/2" fasteners. Your car has 14mm. Spec is 150ft/lbs.
  12. HP Darkhorse Wheels installed on Base Darkhorse

ok, you do realize American cars use wheel NUTS, right? but sure, slap some masking tape on the end, draw a line with sharpie and count how many turns from when it engages, till seated.
  13. Order Time Analysis + Appeal to the Kind Folks whose Cars Have Arrived

Aha! So we have "you" to blame for Sync? :) :) :)
  14. Order Time Analysis + Appeal to the Kind Folks whose Cars Have Arrived

come on now, unbridled anxiety and navel-gazing worry worts are what keep the post-count increasing and innumerable threads (and the all important ad views) getting spawned. :) There was a thread on 6G that had charts and graphs showing the evolving wait time of a Mach1 order. Good luck...
  15. HP Darkhorse Wheels installed on Base Darkhorse

that's fine. Absolute minimum engagement is 6 turns - not that I would ever go that low for WHEEL nuts - other far less critical fasteners, sure. The non-nailbiting lower bound for wheel nuts is 9 turns. Optimal is 12-14. 305/30 is also correct.
  16. HP Darkhorse Wheels installed on Base Darkhorse

that looks like a lot of extra poke. what's the ET on those wheels?
  17. TPMS Sensors

tpms.com $100/set and always reliable. Ebay is a coin flip at best.
  18. HP Darkhorse Wheels installed on Base Darkhorse

bad photos don't help but doesn't seem too far off. But I would double-check to make sure you put the front wheels on the front and didn't mess that up.
  19. Pirelli tire observation

don't argue with the guy who oned one. :) And still has the tires. I picked up a steel cable end about 10" long and 3/4" in dia that went thru my RR tire as well. sudden decompression on the front is a far bigger car control problem than one on the rear.
  20. Why did you get an Automatic over a 6 Speed?

it was deliberate. A cheap attempt at garnering laughs.
