I've come around big time on hybrids and EVs after driving my gf's Escape Hybrid loaner, and a friend's Model Y recently. As you say, instant torque is no joke. My issue with current EVs however is their lackluster range and relatively long charge times. Hybrids make up for both of those...
Great post amk. Maybe the lack of insiders is due to Ford clamping down on leaks? More stringent NDAs?
To your comment about a glimpse, was it a glimpse at a potential exterior design or something entirely?
That's a function of the ECU, not the transmission.
I'd love to see the MT82 bite the dust. Tremec builds waaaay better transmissions. The TR6060 in my Camaro is still going strong 8 years later. The clutch is another story lol.
It's weird. But maybe they are really running these things at night. Or, maybe they're just testing with run of the mill S550 bodies since the S650 won't be much different.
Regardless, I hope this turns out to be one of those "good things happen to those who wait" scenarios.
Apologies for the bump, but, a point of clarification from my last post: I've come to discover, as I'm sure many of you have already before me, that the renders at the end of the link I posted were from a design student for a project unrelated to Ford.
However, it is nevertheless very...
Man, I just want a GT350 successor - if that happens as a further revised 5.0, I'm totally fine with that (and probably better off as the 5.0 has proven to be more reliable).
Nonetheless, exciting times (and slightly depressing times) ahead! Thanks for sharing!
How's everyone doing? Going stir crazy about the lack of S650 news? I kinda am, especially as I dig deeper and deeper into various threads - some suggesting S650 is scrapped altogether, others advising that S650 is just severely delayed because of Covid, and some being concerned as to the...
TT, seeing the renders in the below thread, I agree, it certainly seemed that whomever posted those was very close to the project. Even though these are from 2018, the headlight design (or at least the light bar that goes across the entire front) seem to be very similar to what we're seeing in...
Moving on from design, we know the 5.0 is sticking around, but what about that 6.8 engine? Do we really believe the union leader that apparently confirmed the 6.8 will be used in the 7g?
Let's say the 6.8 does happen, would it be solely for a Shelby? I'd love to see a manual 6.8 Shelby (GT350...
Regarding StangMode: at the onset of the pandemic in the U.S., StangMode actually posted a video letting people know that he had lost his day job, and was unclear as to how he was going to make his payments on his GT500. He genuinely believed he was going to have to sell his GT500, and that came...
I was following the new Z very closely up until it's reveal on Tuesday. I was initially enamored with the Z Proto, but, as time went on, I don't really know why, I seem to have just fallen out of love with it. The overall design is great, however, the hard front angle seems unresolved to me and...
