A mustang is a performance car. A bronco is a performance off road SUV.

It also gives them opportunities to try out new things to see what sticks, like an off road mustang, and an AWD mustang... Maybe in the future a mid engine mustang in a different price bracket... There could also be an electric performance mustang, all while still keeping the rear wheel drive V8...
