I thought it was already established that the S650 would be introduced in 2023 as a MY24. Was that just a rumor?

I feel like a V8 hybrid with all wheel drive, a lot more horsepower, and gobs of torque would be very appealing but also have a big price premium. Since the S650 is supposed to have an 8 year run I expect there will be a mid-cycle refresh after 3-4 years like the 2018 S550. Maybe that "last"...

I'm on my 2nd S550. Looking forward to the S650 release. Will I consider buying one? It depends. :)

So we'll be hearing, "looks like a Mach E," like we heard "looks like a Fusion" when the S550 was released? :)

I voted waiting to see what it looks like, but I'm also waiting to see performance upgrades. If it's essentially the same car underneath, I will have to be blown away by the exterior styling and interior to be interested.

Well hell. I guess I'll just buy electric and yell vroom vroom while passing all the ICE luddites.:wink:

I admire how fast the Teslas are, but they're heavy. I can't imagine they're very fun to drive in the twisties.

I think a Toyota 86 with 300 horsepower would be more a modern pony car than today's Camaro or Mustang.

I didn't think of that. It would be consistent with what looks like 17 inch wheels.

If they're going back to single exhaust tips it would be nice if they were bigger.

Maybe it's because of the resemblance to the Mach E, but to me that front end looks a little too SUV-ish for a Mustang coupe.

I know, reviving an old thread but I only joined a month ago. Really love this. Agree it looks more like an evolution of the S197 and probably not ideal for the next gen, but I think it's what the S550 should have been (except with more modern looking headlights). I love the lines of the S550...
