Yes I know that. When he said "inferred" in an earlier post I thought he was referring to the high temperature limit on the track guage being "inferred" because there is no number associated with yellow or red.
Yes. As mentioned, you should do it if you have a wide wheel and tire package. Like the DH handling pack. My Mach 1 kicked stuff up all over that area because of the 10.5" wheels and 305 tires.
I have PP wheels and tires on my current GT and they dont seem to be wide enough to throw up deris in...
Its not inferred. We all have digital numbers to look at. The issue is the assumption of what is "too hot", and what the limits of the engine are. This was never a topic of worry before we had these numbers to look at and people started to second guess Ford engineering based on a lack of...
I ld bet that posters limp mode experience was due to something else.
Yes they have the same numbers. But you have to look at the guage to infer the limits. This is the oil temp gauge on my track app. It doesnt have numbers but I've e been able to figure out that the yellow mark is 280⁰. This...
I mentioned this is a previous post above.
I didn't go this route because Id still have to file the claim that would go against my policy. Yes, my insurance would have gone after the trucking company. But there was no guarantee of a payout, and it simply wasnt worth it to save a few hundred...
That quote for PPF is really high for just the front clip. I suggest you shop around some more.
Full retail for cermaic is typically around $1200-$1500. Most of that is the labor cost of polishing and preparation of the surface. Again, you can shop around a bit for this. Id avoid big shops and...
Limp mode due to oil temp is theoretical at this point. Ive only heard of it happening to one person who was doing several wide open pulls in quick succession without cooling in between. More than likey it was due to coolant temperature or something else.
It doesnt matter.
Thats not under dispute. The point is Ford DOES NOT program the car to go into limp mode @ 280⁰. Its a myth that was started by one poster on the internet, and is being repeated despite it not being true.
The sprays dont last and arent a substitute for a real hard coating. Use a PPF cleaner before you do anything. My guess is there is too much product building up on it right now. If you don't opt for CERAMIC there are specific topper products made to use on PPF.
EDITED TO CHANGE PPF TO CERAMIC.
Do the whole front clip - bumper, hood, fenders, along with the side mirrors. If you have a wide tire and wheel set up get it on the rear quarters in front of the rear wheels.
Its not a California thing. Its a dealer thing. The same oil change varys by quite a bit in all states depending on the dealer. They set their own pricing. Its the same here is Arizona. And population dense cities are always going to cost more. Mine was $120 for full synthetic. Dont forget were...
You most certianly are. This thread wasnt started to be a comparison to old problems no one here cares about. It was to share new information on an existing recall and its ongoing changes.
Start your own thread. Preferably on the S197 forum.
It seems to be that different dealers are giving different information. This has been the case for months. Some were just doing an inspection, some were doing an inspection and water test.
I have yet to see an official Ford or dealer memo saying the fix needs to be revised. Until otherwise im...
