When your engine catches on fire, the hood liner supposedly melts and lands on the fire putting it out.
It might melt but it doesn't do jack shit as far as putting the fire out
The thing that worries me about a low volume platform is parts availability. My GTO sat at the dealer for a long while (months) waiting for a lower control arm. Unfortunate event involving a police chase and some train tracks.

Probably because 500hp BMW's have been tested in the 1/4 mile and they are significantly faster than the DH
503-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six. the quarter-mile passes in 11.0 seconds at 124 mph
When you stick them on the dyno though, you can see the BMW is underrated
