At a family race engine building shop and a friends engine building shop 90% of oiled filters that came in were badly or improperly maintained resulting in definite loss of power and likely increased engine wear. Just a gimmick. Replace oem OFTEN - or - get an AFE (or like quality) dry...
@NegativeMultiplier ....., Yes, happy to. I'll try to find the thread on this forum as it had all the details. If I can't I'll do some digging. I have seen the part installed at a Mustang meet and it looked absolutely oem. No way you could tell the owner cut the hole then added the trim.
@ZXMustang ..... Roush sell super high quality filters that can be washed many, many times and they also send a technical sheet with them. I have used them. I think at one time AFE made them for Roush and still may. Waaaaay better than crap oiled filters.
....... and everyone has forgotten about the previous flood damage at Flat Rock to a lot full of Mustangs and the numerous news items of dealerships losing their entire inventory to hail? Yeah, it happens. But man do we ever love to wander all over the map on some topics.
@BimmerDriver ..... agree 100% that most FB is crap BUT you obviously haven't seen what a hail storm can do - shattered glass, all panels needing replacing AND if a hard top it has to be cut off and re-welded on. Then comes the painting. If you ordered a car and that happened at the factory or...
@Amarii ..... you did everyone a service AND you did a great job. Well done. I posted pictures, a while back, of an aftermarket part made specifically for the hole you cut. It fits over it, isn't expensive and looks factory OEM.
What would we do with our time if we couldn't whine about our Mustangs? RS - get a life and enjoy your Mustang. These TSBs affect all vehicles. Who gives a $hit (apart from the EPA) if the friggin' IAT doesn't rat on itself?
@Scryden .... does the disruption last long enough to video it? That would help a tech. We have the Samsung S25 and have had no issues with either the 2024 or 2026 GT.
@Shneakyman ..... like your thinking! Good luck! BTW my friend had an X pipe. He felt it sounded too raspy and thought it caused tone vibrations inside the cabin at different highway speeds. He replaced it with an H pipe and said the sound deepened and there was no more vibrations. Yes, just his...
@Shneakyman ....got it, but by putting the vehicle in neutral are you not taking the load off the X pipe, even at highway speeds? Respectfully, not trying to be a pita - just hoping to help you solve this annoying issue. If you can't solve this issue at the Ford dealer could there be a local...
@Shneakyman ..... good news on the alignments. Putting the car in neutral is not the same as driving it at highway speeds. I have heard a number of owners say X pipes caused noise and vibrations. I do like @Grumpywizards suggestion!
@Shneakyman ..... so you have an X pipe. Did your DH come with this? X pipes are known to have "special effects" aka rumble, vibration, etc. at certain rpm/mph ranges. H pipes don't seem to be prone to the "special effects" afflictions of X pipes. Do you know the history of your DH? Was it ever...
From the moment I pick-up the new vehicles I buy (now 4 Mustangs) I keep the revs low (not lugging - just not bouncing off the rev limiter) and vary the revs and mph for the first 500 miles. I'm still very respectful for the next 500 miles then I change the oil (FULL synthetic) and filter...
@mthx .... on the 2026 Premium GT convertible that I took posession of in March then took to a technician for ceramic coating he noticed a small bulge on the trunk edge near the convertible top. We think a piece of body caulking from inside the trunk lid got pushed up then painted. I used my...
@Tommyswrx ..... awesome - now get the Corsa clear air box covers with AFE dry filters (red) for the final custom touch......and IMO better breathing than oem, if you still have oem air filters.
OR - Go with Roush. I had Roush clear air box covers on my 2024 GT (see below) - so -if you want...
@Army GT.....interesting. The paint on my 2014 is still in excellent shape (sold it to a friend). There were two drips at the trunk edges of my 2024 GT Prem Vert - which I used the wife's finger nail file to gently reduce before re-painting nmyself, but the rest was very good. There was one...
@Kaptain75329 ..... friends have noted that my 2024 GT and 2026 GT were, in their opinions, very well assembled and extremely attractive. I have noted that many of my friends' vehilces (while I didn't say so - lol) were of inferior (in my opinoion) build quality. Considering that the Mustang...
