I bought an auto because I could get it now, not in 6 months for the manual. If both were available it would have been a tough call. But now there's something I've seen on reviews that concerns me, and that's the ridiculously tall 6th gear. That could be a pain here where we have no high speed...

Having rebuilt a few engines, we used to leave the plugs out and spin them on the starter, it doesn't take long, about 5 - 10 seconds from memory, to see pressure showing on the gauge, and it got up to a reasonable level as well. The oil pumps were generally gear type

Just about anyone with a few (a lot) bucks and loves having a car not many others will. It also sounds like a great thing to drive. I wish I was in the first group, I'd buy one and keep it in the second home I'd buy in Italy.

I doubt I'll ever buy a used performance car from someone I didn't know. Dealer demos have had the arse flogged off them. Private buyers might have done the same and/or performed a "youtube" break in. Or simply neglected it knowing they'll flick in a couple of years.
