The added tq down low … even just cruising around in light throttle/low rpm …. It made a world of difference in the car, also whipples tune, the throttle response is right there with no lag, holding rpm a little more before gear changes etc… their trans tuning is top notch… not to mention being...
Huge misconception…. The government isn’t enforcing the company’s….
The big 3 are forcing the government to push what they want…. T$ pushed back. So they will play pretend a few more years.
The government doesn’t run the USA… the S&P 500 does.
You need to take a step back, circa 2018-2020 it WAS full EV transition over the next 12-15 years
Not today in 2025/7 years out, Bronco was scheduled for EV by 2032 back then also… everything but ICE fleet trucks and low volume specialty vehicles.
Well… I’ll definitely be listening to the conference call Wednesday afternoon… just guessing but
I think Ford got caught flat footed, they were 100% committed to EV future… still are, but now have to bide time for a extended cycle, iirc plans were full electric by 2032… aside from fleet trucks...
All great points about fuel systems and running full E85 for another 5-6 grand.
My point is 90% plus of the gains of full fuel system E85 is achieved with E30…
The only major difference I’d expect is they can shove a bunch of timing in down low under the curve, probably see more low rpm TQ...
My good friend with a 500 does this A LOT… cruising .. pull paddles and floors it to the soft limiter and it’ll crackle n spit… then just take off.
I doubt there is much to gain besides full out 1kwhp plus race build…
Even Lund/yolo has been back pedaling expectations… Whipple gave us a full custom tune off the rip… why they’re such haters, they got cut out
He noted that they are responding better to boost than S550 ess kits … interesting,
I’m not sure the savings could ever compare to the whipple stage 2 for 10K, you’re gonna be in for ESS kit?? 6-7K maybe more, plus injectors/fueling easy 1K plus and then tuning device and custom tune… another...
A tip that worked for me is, I pull up to the pump… and put the car in track mode… it changes to a percentage. So if I’m at say 30% till empty, I calculate 70% of 14.2 … so I need 9.9 gallons and then I use the E85/E30 calculator app.
It is a lot to explain but only takes a few seconds and...
Yeah iirc I was 12.2s 115 bone stock pump 93 stock tires everything, and the next time out I was 12.00s 117 E30 blend…. Also stock tires and in worse summer air.
@Junkyard Dog i haven’t been out to the track at all this year… I got into golf and it’s become my new hobby, people are like “golfing is expensive” and I just say I came from drag racing, this is the cheapest most productive hobby I’ve ever had..
Sticking one on the greens is more fun than...
