I've heard of that, I've never done it. It was popular with cross ply tyres, especially retreads, where QC was poor.
But if the OP does that, tyre warranty is void.
This is great for those wanting a clear explanantion of track alignment and weighting set up. Despite it being on a GM product:sunglasses:
I'd not seen that type of alignment tool before, so I found that particularly interesting.
I'm height challenged, and I have my seat low, so it's not a problem for me. I do like that you can turn off the detector display on the V1 Gen2 so there aren't tell tale lights visible from behind.
