What's the purpose of your build?
Drag racing or road racing?
For drag racing....your stock brakes are more then good enough... I have friends in 10 second cars with much worse brakes then what comes on new GTs with standard brakes
Your in Florida.....go outside........sit on the beach .....stare at the ocean.....listen to the waves and relax.........
We can choose to enjoy what short time we have on this Earth freaked out about this or that or whatever....or we can just chill enjoy the ride and not worry about it...
Here you guys go- someone bought an S550 Anniversary Edition - kept it wrapped in the plastic it came in ......and after 11 years it sold for under sticker.........
So add in insurance - registration- sales tax when new.......
The S650 anniversary cars are awesome- I like the wheels...
I'm with you as well... I saw it on first glance... it screams charger ...
People like to poke about the S650 and Camaro thing but the Saleen Charger thing is way more apparent to me ...
I can't stand the way it looks
Had a 10a before in my S550 PP1
Drag mode what I loved the most about that transmission...
The 10a was a game changer for the Mustang...
I still like my manual also but for drag racing you would be foolish not to choose the 10a
Edit should add
The fact an S550 with a 10a can run just about...
I agree they are very good looking cars but dont wander into the 50th anniversary thread ... you would think you stumbled into the corvette forums with the 1 of 1 built on a Tuesday by a guy named George talk lol
This one wasnt me- just a story I copied and pasted but like you I have heard the stories....not to mention I had many friends that worked for Saleen back in the day where they assembled the cars and the stories I heard...lets just say many a short cut was taken when assembling the cars and this...
Multiple bankruptcies ... suppliers left out to dry ... just a few years ago on Facebook....this is a copy and paste but I have seen this time and time and time again... quote ...
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE — SALEEN TOOK OUR MONEY AND DID NOT DELIVER
My wife and I ordered a new Saleen Mustang in...
I totally agree... while I am a fan of the Ford Performance Shelby cars .... the Las Vegas built cars feel like a money grab.... let's just say the s650 gt350s are pretty much laughed at by the s550 gt350 crowd...
It's 10 variations of a whipped GT with some stickers and a few random...
Sorry but anniversary editions are usually worth not much more then a standard GT....
It's a wheel and sticker package
If you like it cool...drive it and enjoy it but I wouldn't bank on it being worth anything more then a normal GT in the future... you might get 1k or 2k more 10 years from...
Yep I also think they made it confusing - before it was
GT
Mach 1 - GT with performance parts
GT350 - 5.2 flat crank
GT500 - 5.2 supercharged
Now its
GT
Dark Horse - GT with performance parts
Dark Horse SC - 5.2 Supercharged
But here is the problem - I hear SC and I think...
Out here in California a good number of new 60th anniversary cars still on the lots with massive discounts as well.....both colors....convertibles...hardtops....all with around 10k discounts off sticker
There are also a few Dark Horse Carbon Fiber wheel painted stripe cars that are new and...
Also .. they are all ready discounting the s650 gt350 around here ... multiple for sale ...
They also have some left over Dark Horses ... carbon fiber wheels painted stripes .. I mean every option marked down into the high 70s ... brand new
Manual or automatic? If manual I'd go the Dark Horse route to get the Tremec
For 45k difference could have the car shipped enclosed trailer to someone to do the install and still have over 20k left over ...
I would do that before I bought a 350 ....
Look at other options then Hurst K&N and Flowmaster .....
They were the things to add back in the day but some much better options for these cars out there ...I would say order with active exhaust and then if anything just do a resonator delete ...
You will be surprised at how much the...
