It doesn't say how they amplify it. When canceling specific inside or outside noise to hear the engine more is also a way to amplify it. You said you mentioned a constant buzz when you measured. Fake engine sound can't be a constant buzz since the engine revs at different rpm.

I don't hear any fake engine sound from the speaker. There might be sound coming from the speaker in some sort of frequency to eliminate outside or inside noise, but no fake engine sounds.
