The owner of a car doing their own work can do what they want
There is this Federal law going back to 1966 that makes DISABLING a safety system a crime.
Car comes in with bad sensors, customer refuses to repair, not my issue but I put it on the work order and make the owner initial it.
You...
If they were not the OEM encoded to the car sensors, you have to encode any new sensors to the car using a specific procedure and a Ford TPMS-19 initialization tool or cheapo amazon equivalent
No mechanic in his right mind is putting regular valve stems in where a TPMS sensor is called for, the...
the first and only one I had done 11 months ago at 1000 miles was 89 dollars
Being a tech myself I asked if they put 10 quarts of oil in the crankcase, the service writer said yes and I checked it before driving away.
I can't buy 10 quarts of oil, a filter, pay disposal costs, shop supplies...
$800 for 20 HP and some torque from the aftermarket tunes that were talked about today.
One of the guys quoted in a Hot Rod piece said " Lund and Cook were quick to point out that there isn’t a lot to be gained in naturally aspirated trim when running pump gasoline. They told us Ford delivers...
Motorcraft filters or WIX
Oil?
Any one that meets the spec and viscosity Ford dictates to keep the warranty intact, because if you lunch a motor you can be assured they are going to be sending a sample to Blackstone before dropping 29K of engine into your car
If you want one, go FP and have the dealer do it.
We have laid out all the reasons not to, there are a bunch of guys that have done it and love the added power.
Have at it, let us know how it works out for you after 6 months or when you try to sell it
I went thru all the pros and cons last year and decided not to pull the trigger
But if you go Ford Performance there is SOME but not a lot of warranty, and the 810HP at the crank and maybe about 730 ish give or take at the tires is where they decided the limits of reliability were right around...
In Toyota it is either the mirror ( my 16 Rav4 and 2022 Highlander) or in a switch panel ( my 13 Highlander)
If there is power near the mirror either for the self dimming or it is there for an option on a higher trim level swapping out the mirror is cheap and easy.
Go look around for what a...
Where I work in a shop, I get my Ford stuff for 25% off usually, and since there is no Sales tax in NH I save there too, although I have a tax exempt number in MA because everything is sold to the shop and installed in NH, I gave up my FL tax resale because the amount of paperwork was brutal and...
The painted plenum cover is a nice touch IMHO
As for the rest, not something that I would do, but if it is what makes you happy go for it.
By the time someone is peering under your hood, they should already know what the car is, but the plenum cover draws your eye to the center of the engine...
If I were Ford, I would find a way to prove that your adding or modifying the audio system or any other part of the car is causing the issue and it is not a Ford manufacturing defect.
If they prove it is your tinkering with the car that caused it, you are going to be on the hook to the dealer...
I forgot about the Homelink garage door openers.
That is something I use daily.
I have never understood the wireless charging thing as my phone does not use it, but then again my phone is normally plugged in via a USB cable for the Android Auto feature.
It used to be you could get universal...
Wait til you spend some time with the top down and with black seats.
I curse Ford for not giving the ragtops a lighter roof and interior color option
My 07 GT Premium ragtop had a nice light colored roof and interior
The lead time for ordered cars is stupidly long.
I cancelled my 2024 order and found a car on the lot near me.
Luckily the only option I wanted but was not on the in stock car was the 3.55 gear set, and I can live with that.
The funny thing about my car was it was a special order car, either...
There is nothing special about it, most of the train trip is in the dark at night, the last hour or so is stop and go as CSX has to work around the local train traffic (Brightline) commuter trains.
If you can tolerate about 11 hours on the road including fuel stops and pee breaks, I suggest...
I have done the auto train a dozen times with everything from my 24 GT to my 06 F150 w/ an 8' bed
Yes you save 900 miles
The trip is long and boring
If the train is full you will be sharing the seat with someone, while trying to get a few ZZZ's
The costs of rooms is off the scale
The dining...
the battery is in the TPMS sensor
2020 TPMS sensors are 315Mhz sensors
2024 and newer are 433Mhz sensors
You can't use 315's on a 433 car.
Ford sells a kit of 4 sensors and the activation tool for short money
