  1. “Next Gen” Mustang Will be Electric (EV) Only Claims Autoline

As per previous posts - Batteries seem to be fine in Norway.

I did say for the average driver (in fact probably the vast majority) where a car is an appliance that goes from A to B, and as long as they arrive at B dry and warm / or cool then it has been a success.

As I say - check out Norway where it is a reality already. Not proposed or possible, but in action already.

They drive like a normal torque converter. In manual mode they will hold a gear and not change up. they never stall as they disconnect the clutch at low speed. To the average driver they behave the same as a torque converter. Kickdown works the same way too.

They drive like standard torque convertor autos with quicker response to requests for shifts. Pros and cons to both. Ford have dropped them in Europe on all but diesel cars and reverted to torque converters.

I wouldn't take one garage in Germany as an example of a problem. Plenty of ICE cars go up in smoke. Some of the other points have been answered at length elsewhere in this thread. Safe to say the US is behind the curve on this compared to Europe and some specific countries where EV adoption is...

You do need to specify the US in that, because as posted before Ford Europe will be 100% EV by 2030.

Norm mentioned it first but once he said Lotus it would be rude to ignore it :like:

The Lotus Evija - Lotus Cars - For The Drivers Link is what it says it is

To an extent it is, in very prescribed circumstances. Terrorists are a case in point where they haven't 'done anything wrong' until it is too late. You can wait until they have blown people up or be proactive (within strict legal constraints) Back to EV's before the mods complain

Do you mean section 44 of the Terrorism Act which was repealed in 2011 ? Not quite the same as speed cameras ! If you have laws then you need to enforce them. Luckily the UK is a democracy and the majority decide what becomes law. Not sure what any of this has to do with EV's ? :cwl:
  12. “Next Gen” Mustang Will be Electric (EV) Only Claims Autoline

I think you will find it is 'innocent until proven guilty' (small technical inaccuracy again from you!) If you knew anything about speed cameras and data policy in the UK you would realise how inaccurate your comments are (again). Add that to your knowledge of EV's (better than those who own...

Not sure why you waste your time on here then ? Have you ever considered that I may have thought you would enjoy the short film? Rather than moaning about it maybe you should show a little gratitude that somebody from elsewhere in the world is actually bothered to share something with you that...

Porsche Taycan has a 2 speed 'gearbox' - higher gear for general use and lower one for performance - but to be fair at no point does that car lack performance !
  15. “Next Gen” Mustang Will be Electric (EV) Only Claims Autoline

speed cameras = state surveillance in your head. Paranoia springs to mind.
  16. “Next Gen” Mustang Will be Electric (EV) Only Claims Autoline

Torque translates to acceleration, that is why EV's are so quick off the mark with maximum torque at zero rpm. Yes they run out of puff at higher rpm but most EV's have plenty of usable performance. PHEV's are probably nearer to the gearbox idea as they do run through the gearbox in some cases...

It's like you are trying to tell me something I don't know ! They are easy to spot - they are mostly painted bright yellow !
  18. “Next Gen” Mustang Will be Electric (EV) Only Claims Autoline

The thing is electric motors remove the need for a gearbox in the traditional sense so you are only adding it to make it more like an ICE car rather than it being a real benefit. Adding moving parts for no reason. That is why nobody makes them !
  19. “Next Gen” Mustang Will be Electric (EV) Only Claims Autoline

Not denying the cameras - just your interpretation of what that means - we are not a police state ! Oh and your understanding of how the BBC is funded and run is misplaced as well - it is not 'state owned' in the sense you want it to be !

Haven't carried cash for years now - never use it. $40 of fuel wouldn't get you far over here !
