They alternate with turn indicators. So it may indeed be for warning.

I went out and checked. They work with the turn signals. They blink opposite them. So it must be for pets to see if we are turning. I have a 2025 Hyundai and they dont have anything like this. Mystery to me. Thanks for the imputs except maybe to make the car look cool.
