There aren't enough GT / DH orders to run a 2nd shift, or increase the forecasting for parts. The handful of people who don't get their cars are loud on forums, but you don't hear the 99.9% of customers who make up Ford's market.
Ford is producing a vehicle that will allow them to run more...
The Mustang Mach-E was announced 5+ years ago, gotta work through those stages-of-grief there buddy. We've known about the Mustang sedan for ~2 years. Even the "Mach 4" isn't a total surprise, as the updated Bronco got 4K towing / AWD for the 2.5L hybrid update.
The Edge EV or a Taurus hybrid...
The factory that makes our cars is operating below half-capacity.
Anything that lets Ford build more cars at FRAP is going to help us. Ecoboosts and Dark Horses roll down the same line. I agree, having a Mach-4 on the line next to your Mustang GT isn't going to hurt it, what it will do is...
Is the Bronco a rally car? Nah? Hence the Mach-E Rally.
Sticking a 2.5L hybrid into a 4-door AWD sedan, along with "sport" variants with the 2.3L Ecoboost, is smart. The "mock Mustangs" (Mach-E, Mach 4) share parts with Ford's other vehicles, won't compete with the Mustang Fastback, and likely...
Queue Werner Herzog - "madness reigns. Ford's marketing team, seemingly impervious to meaning, wield language as a crude instrument to bludgeon humanity. All is lost, and yet, we must drive."
Mustang is the "Porsche" sub-brand of Ford. Besides, "let's sell fewer units to maintain the purity of a dying nameplate" is a non-starter for corporate. They called the Edge EV a "Mustang", of course a hybrid sedan will be a "Mustang" (just add obligatory sequential turn signals and pony badge).
Thanks for the info, I suspected this was going to get the Bronco engine options (2.5L hybrid for most trims, 2.3L Ecoboost option for the "sporty"). Curious how the Coyote trims will play out, will they be like the Dark Horse and limited allocation?
@BoostRabbitGT looks like you're getting...
The Mustang has always been a parts-bin car built for the masses. Ecoboosts and Dark Horses run down the same line. The Mach 4 being announced for FRAP would be a good thing for people who want classic Mustangs to keep existing.
I suspect you're right about wheels or some other part holding it up an extra few days. Mine's on its way, flipped to "shipped". Estimated delivery date remained same from "Built" to "Shipped", other than the brief "order confirmed" glitch during the update.
In all seriousness for people new to manual: you will not use a gear indicator or shift lights after the first week. We get a ton of new riders in the motorcycling world wanting the same stuff - none of them want it a week later - it's always "you were right, I was in my own head overthinking it".
