I think you make a valid point with the weight savings. That's one area that is absolutely frustrating that NO ONE is working on. Not Ford, not Shelby, not anyone.
If Shelby made a few custom parts for ALL Shelby Mustangs strictly designed to be strong, yet lightweight, reducing the fat by at...
Shelby's clapback took me by surprise at first. But the more I look at it, the more it makes sense. This isn't just some small thing to them. It's their bread and butter. It's how their people (OUR people?) earn a living. And this kind of work is getting more difficutl as automakers lock things...
i never said the cheap engine option would go anywhere. Just thst the v8 turbo would far access anything tje 4 or 6 could ever offer.
doesnât have to be gt500 power - but the gt500 could then power tje zr1.
Iâm not advocating everything habe gt500 power. But your point saying theyâd all have...
it would sound better, be way faster and more powerful, and get around the same mileage and emissions, if not slightly worse. Youâd barely have to boost the 8 compared to pushing the 4 and 6.
Also differences between the truck engine curve and the mustang engine curve.
when tje v8 is boosted...
this. Even launch sales were bad. And thatâs usually when they sell the most by far.
the mustang sales werenât that great as the s550 got old. Then the s650 just kept that oldness. When an actual new mustang log comes out with next gen looks and performance it will have a fighting chance. The...
preserve and save are different words.
preserve is the language of death.
save is the language of life.
I know youâre being tongue in cheek, butâŠ
we donât want dead monuments to bygone days.
we want to see the mustang thrive, getting better and better for gerations to come.
last year, I hypothesized that the real reason for an expensive GTD was to actively fund development of the next Mustang platform. A lot to be learned from GTD development.
sure beats just pouring money into a years-long pit and then hoping to recoup on a sales scale.
I do believe we will see...
I was referring to the SC version. Really the only reason to get a 350. The NA version is a waste of money. The manual transmission will ensure performance is not maximized. But the automatic evens it out. However, it would be interesting to see how the NA stacks against the dark horse on the...
ford has an interest in selling mustangs.
a dark horse sold to Shelby is more money per unti in fordâs pockets.
itâs Shelby thst didnât see the need to go with a dark horse starter.
Makes a lot of sense. No need to pay more for a car that when youâre just going to swap out the suspension...
Honestly, I think the gt350 is a bit of a mistake to launch.
the Super Snske is a serious work of art. It looks so good in addition to being seriously capable.
In my opinion, itâs the best looking mustang of this generation and the best looking Shelby American car ever.
Whereas the SS had...
more likely, any dark horse parts would be rendered moot as they were removed and replaced with better components.
Shelby would have simply wasted money going the dark horse route. Better to spend less and end up with the same exact car, AND keeping the better looking GT front end.
this. The recent gt350 and gt500 raised the bar in terms of what a pony car could be. Everything from engine to suspension to body to transmission, to even the transition to flat plane crank was explored. They were game-changing vehicles.
these SA units are basically aftermarket bolt on deals...
track only cars donât count. And the anniversary and special cars are nothing.
the only consequential cars are the GT, dark horse, and ecoboost.
ââthe GTD is unobtainable. The Shelby and rtr are tuner cars
there have always been crazy amounts of tuner cars. Saleen, rtr, Shelby, Hennessy, etc...
