Sounds to me like something in the exhaust system isn't properly bolted down. It could be a heat shield or a pipe bracket. If that's the case, it isn't going to harm anything other than your nerves. Have them put it on a lift and shake check everything they can get their hands on.
I guess it's put up or shut up time. Sitting in our shop at work is a 87 mustang cop car. It has about 3 miles on the clock and is available for the right price. It was offered to me but one of the reasons I got the new car is because parts are getting a little difficult to find. As a car that...
Normally driving I would expect 14 volts if the battery is charged. Idling it might drop down if you have a lot of stuff turned on like AC and lights. Above 14 will shorten battery life and is risky to the electrical system. If your battery is discharged, you could get lower than 14 until the...
Hot is better because the partials may still be suspended in the oil. Also the oil will flow out of the engine better. Does it really make all that much difference? Probably not.
They warn you about pressure washing the car because it might remove the decals so I assume at least some of the artwork isn't painted. I may have to be careful with the nozzle I like to use on the hose because it produces a fairly narrow stream of water.
The smell I don't know. There isn't a direct connection between the gas peddle and the engine. Instead there is a sensor on the gas peddle and a stepping motor on the engine to position the intake. You may be hearing the stepping motor.
The idea behind this is the computer only allows enough...
My boss coined a name for some of the design choices for user interfaces. He called them user hostile. That somewhat describes the user interface in the mustang. It took about a day to figure out how to set a preset on the radio. Now I am working on removing presets that I don't want. The...
It's probably a pursuit car. Once they catch them they call for transportation to haul them back if needed. The police departments did much the same thing in 1982. The smog regulation so crippled the cars that they couldn't get much over 100. When the 82 mustang became available Ford sold a...
We have a couple of restoration projects and we went to California Car Covers. You get what you pay for and the better ones will cost more. You may find other companies that produce quality covers as well but there is a large collector market in California and these people have been in business...
I know the feeling but in this case it was operator error. I hit the speed limiter button instead of the cruse control. The manual wasn't exactly clear on the point so I knowingly hit the wrong button. I though you had adaptive cruse control and old fashion cruse control on the same car. Turns...
A mild ping is acceptable but if it's anything more than that, you may have a bad knock sensor. You really can't go by my hearing because I was born with poor hearing so it's not likely I would hear the mild ping however I have hear the loud pinging.
I don't think it's so much were they got their license but it's distracted driving. If a motorcycle rider wants to live they have to be aware of everything around them. Cars protect you somewhat if you are distracted and are in an accident, you will probably survive it. I look at this new car...
I am paranoid enough that they haven't got me in the side yet. If they try it, I have been able to avoid it Unfortunately I have probably been hit at least half a dozen times in the rear. Only once was the car totaled and the remainder were with 5 mile an hour bumpers so the damage was repairable.
I worked with a guy who was color blind. Unfortunately my boss ask him to help connect up some twisted pair telephone wire. Afterwards my boss said never again.
Actually that racing red has a fair amount of orange in it and the combination really grabs your eyes. You get used to it but the first...
Mine had 12 miles when it was delivered to the dealer. If somehow the registration paper work was filed and the buyer walked out, it would have to be sold as used even if it never left the lot.
As for the sun, at 110+ in the summer and winters just cool enough to be uncomfortable, I will stick...
No thank you. I picked racing red for an important reason. I have been rear ended so many times that I want a lot of color showing that they have no excuse for not seeing. Will they still rear end me? Probably but at least I can ask them if they are blind.
Give them your driver license and they run a credit check. Within a few minutes they will know if you can afford what you want and if you are wasting your time. They already know the loan they can offer you and how the sale will play out.
I think the FOBs use bluetooth which is extremely low power and shouldn't cause much battery drain. On the other hand, what the car does when it finds a FOB is another story. It may power up several systems and prepare it self to run and that could consume a good deal of power. On the other...
