  1. How many are regretting

The mustang always has had a smaller tank. It used to be 15.4 gallons but somewhere they bumped it to 16. The V8 engine seems to really suck fuel in stop and go driving. I am still experimenting but with careful driving I think you can do a bit better than 16 miles per gallon. I haven't done...
  2. change center gauge cluster ?

Setting>instrument cluster>chose screens. There are boxes to turn on the screens you want to appear in the center location. I have 4, Trip 1, milage, tire pressure and engine stats. I don't know what happens if you don't check any of the boxes. Page 114 in the print manual.
  3. How many are regretting

Colors are pretty restricted on the Dark Horse. In my case, I got to pick from one shade of red and it's pretty loud. The interior brings back the old Ford saying. You can have the model T in any color you want as long as it's Black. I probably would have wanted different colors but I can live...
  4. No mustang for me :(

Your entire credit history is on file at all three credit agencies. Last time I checked my history, my records dated back to 82 when I got my first credit card. If you suspect something is wrong with your credit, you can check it once a year for free without giving away any information or...
  5. Can’t get adaptive cruise control to work?

Activating the cruse control. Left center button will activate it and set it to your current speed. Center button will disable it or reactivate it to your current speed after you hit the brakes or clutch. Top center will set a new speed if deactivated or bump it up a mile per hour if active...
  6. Seat belt position.

There is a fabric loop with a magnetic catch on the top side of the seat intended for people with the problem of the belt cutting their neck. I don't use it because at 5'14" it's not an issue for me.
  7. How many are regretting

Just over a year ago I started trying to buy a Mach 1 but I could never place an order because the order books were always closed. There was one on the lot but it wasn't a configuration I wanted. I had to wait for the 24 order books to open before I could place an order.
  8. Can’t get adaptive cruise control to work?

Do you have adaptive cruse control? Cars either come with it or not but it can be disabled on the ones with it. The distance button is located in the upper left of the control pad.
  9. Storage Time

The alcohol in the fuel will suspend any water in the fuel until you can burn it off so condensation isn't the problem it once was. Really long term storage you would drain the fuel but you should be ok for 6 months.
  10. Storage Time

As you're going to be running the engine once a month, that isn't needed as the engine should leave enough oil there. It still should be done for really long term storage.
  11. Where in the RPM band are you noticing fuel cut off ?

I never push and engine that hard but they used to have a yellow line which you shouldn't go past but it wasn't real risky to push into it. Some reason or another, I never hear about the yellow line any more and only hear about the red line.
  12. Storage Time

Do not put extra fuel in after the shutoff. I used to do that with my 96 mustang and I had to replace multiple carbon canisters. Finally a service manager talked to me about it and what happens is the fuel get sucked into the canister and destroys it's ability to function resulting in the evil...
  13. Is MotorTrend right about the new S650?

It's been to long and my memory has faded a bit so I didn't exactly get it right. Here is a link with what is probably a little more accurate information. Mustangs that never were
  14. Is MotorTrend right about the new S650?

The 4th generation which was my 96 is an interesting comparison. Both cars are about the same size though the 7th generation is a small bit longer and maybe a bit wider. Yet the 7th generation feels like a boat compared to the 4th generation. This is because the hood area is a little larger and...
  15. No mustang for me :(

One of the sad things I have seen is the wife surviving her husband and not being able to handle the finances. It doesn't have to be complicated but you need to understand what the overall plan is. Perhaps a paper list of the items and how to handle each one. In my case, my investments are with...
  16. No mustang for me :(

I have been on SS for a couple of years because they told me use it or lose it. My job pays enough to pretty well take care of my expenses so I bank the SS. As my job only takes a few hours a day, it's not that important that the pay check be huge. Next year I will have to start taking out of my...
  17. No mustang for me :(

Then put day to day expenditures on you credit card and pay it off at the end of the month instead of paying cash at the time of purchase. You pay 0% interest and improve your credit rating. As one who made the last payment on a home loan almost 20 years go, it is really nice not writing that...
  18. No mustang for me :(

Years ago a co worker with good credit went to a car dealer because they spoke spanish, her native language. She had a job, home and good credit but got nailed with credit card rates. That was what the dealer normally handled in that part of town and she didn't know enough to know she was being...
  19. Introductions & Welcome Thread đź‘‹

I have always thought the Chevy's had more attractive body style and the engines were more powerful than Ford products. The reason why I have stuck with Ford products for over 50 years is because they are more durable and I always plan on keeping a car for a long time. Now that you appreciate...
  20. Ford denied warranty for HPDE events over on S550 forums

Close to 30 years ago Detroit started putting black boxes in cars. My 96 mustang doesn't have one but a few cars of that vintage contained them. The intention was so crash data could be pulled from a car to better understand accidents. The condition were that a court order was required to pull...
