Odo had 6000.2 miles on it in the morning. Washed it in the afternoon. We drove about 100 miles going out to breakfast and shopping all around. Got several compliments about the car. :)
Picture from a couple weeks ago when I bolted up the new wheels/tires. Had 4 18" GTO wheels widened 1" and 275/35 tires mounted. 15mm spacer up front to keep them away from the coilovers, perfect fit in the back.
First car I had was a '55 Chevy Bel Air 2-door hardtop, was my parent's car, they gave it to me for graduating college, then spent several thousand dollars having body panels replaced. Sold it as it still needed a lot more body work and I lost interest. I bought an '87 Camaro IROC-Z, replaced...
I'd say your mpg is from a lot of highway miles. With my wife driving hers back and forth to work every day, her average is up to 19.5 mpg since we got it. Last tank of gas was almost 20 mpg. It gets driven in a mix of around-town and highway driving.
My wife used to use her foot to close the van door if she had stuff in her hands, which she usually does after going shopping. She gently uses her butt to close the Mustang door if she has to, but she's a lot more careful with her car than the van. :)
Our did that this afternoon when we went out to lunch. Trunk was popped open, so I had to close that. It went away after we had stopped and locked it for lunch, then unlocked and started it back up.
I don't miss any of them, although my wife might think the door sills are cute like the pony puddle lights. :) Ours has a security system according to our build sheet. Not crazy about the higher price though...
I've noticed the same thing comparing my wife's Mustang to my GTO. I can accelerate up to 60 mph in my GTO and keep the revs under 2000 rpm. Her Mustang won't go below 2000 rpm to get up to that speed. It just doesn't have the bottom end punch of a larger engine with tons more torque. But my...
My dad was still shoveling snow, mowing the grass, and doing most of the housework (mom's health was failing) at 81 years old. I hope to be in the same condition at that age. So far, no signs of slowing down at 54 years old. :)
On my '87 Camaro, I installed oil temp and transmission temp gauges in an A-pillar gauge pod since I drove it on road-race courses and as a daily driver. The Canton oil pan had a fitting for the temp sender. I used an Autometer manifold tied into the trans cooler lines for the trans temp...
Thanks! The coilovers really transformed the suspension, as I had the original struts up front and shocks in back, only replacing the rear springs right after I bought it because of spring sag. I've replaced just about every other bushing, front control arms, end links, 1-piece driveshaft, LS3...
