Here’s an interesting read on charging. As ownership increases improvements will will be brought to market faster and faster. https://mashable.com/article/level-2-faster-home-ev-charging/

Norm, you're nitpicking. It is obvious that there are going to be those who will need to find alternative ways to charge their electric vehicles. These issues will need to be addressed, of course. Honestly, with the continuing advancements in batteries and charging systems I do not think...

Not making any assumptions just pointing out the alternatives. Even if you cannot or do not want to sell it back, the savings are there. And no worries about black/brownouts. There are many things to consider. This is still an industry in its infancy. We will just have to wait until 2028 to...

All excellent points but I was only addressing the charging Vs. fill-up issue. Long distance travel does change the equation. When I visit family up on Long Island I would have to stop and recharge, probably twice. Unless I was stopping for a meal that would be an inconvenience. But I only do...

Agreed. There has to be massive upgrades to the infrastructure to support a large increase in electric vehicle usage. But that is being addressed and the change will be slow in coming. That said it is possible to avoid the chance of this happening. Solar energy is a real alternative to the...

Competitiveness needs to be defined by usage. When used as the majority of drivers do, full electrics are competitive. At my last job I travelled 70 miles a day, 350 miles a week. That’s above the norm. Now add a couple of hundred weekend miles every week. So overnight recharging twice a week...

Keep in mind that the GT Performance's 480HP only has two motors powering all wheels, today. Now add two more motors, smaller and far more efficient in 2028 than today and you've got 900+ HP. I also expect mileage to be 500+ and thousands more charging stations that will give you a full charge...

A robocaller in the landline days of yore!
  9. “Next Gen” Mustang Will be Electric (EV) Only Claims Autoline

A Mach-E performance GT is supposed to be in the $60-70K range, right. Pull off the CUV body off and put a Mustang coupe body on it (remember is is rear wheel drive) and you would have one hell of a car. That's what I'm thinking a future electric Mustang might evolve into.
  10. “Next Gen” Mustang Will be Electric (EV) Only Claims Autoline

I Wish :giggle: Remember we are talking next gen, S750. That's 2028. My GT/CS will be 9 years old at that point and I'll be 78 :frown:. With improvements in technology, and hopefully infrastructure, an electric Mustang coupe might be affordable. I'm just hoping I'm still here to see it.

I used to run these tracks in the late 60’ and then again in the mid 70’. The racing was insane. I believe some of them still exist and are in use.

Individual home markets dictate product needs. Japan and Europe need relatively small cars with high efficiency. Therefore lots of sedans. In the good old US of A bigger has always meant better. Most Americans do not want small underpowered cars without all the bells and whistles. So the...

Neither! :giggle: Each traction motor is directly geared to a pair of driving wheels. The use of electricity as the “transmission” for the locomotive is far more reliable than using a mechanical transmission and clutch. Starting a heavy train from a dead stop would burn out a clutch in a...

Exactly. Someone over at Cadillac has quite the pair. And the bean counters went along with it. Bravo Cadillac.

Tell that to the guys that want the 7.3 Godzilla. :giggle:

Just because a technology is older doesn’t make it extinct.

You know what's funny? This isn't about what we want. This is about what we eventually are going to get. So enjoy your ICE car. They will be around for a long time. But when that time comes, sometime in the future, you are not going to have a choice.

I respectfully disagree. A car is more than just the sum of its parts. That includes the engine. https://www.thedrive.com/article/3784/do-cars-have-souls#:~:text=And%20no%20two%20cars%20are,Yeah%2C%20machines%20have%20souls.
