Post - winter update.
I think I am safely past the really cold weather here in Georgia.
I put about 4000 miles on the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
They look new. No cracking or other issues are visible. Tires are grippy and performed well no matter how cold once the tires warmed up...
Here is the thread on the tires if you want a fun and entertaining read.

Just FYI, the Trofeos and the PS4S are nothing at all alike in colder weather. It is not even close. I know this from experience driving both in colder weather. I posted about that in the same thread. The Trofeos would slip even trying to get the car moving under normal or light...
I can't like both of them?
And lots of other cars, too? I just like cars. I'd even love to have a 1969 Dodge Coronet RT with a 572 cubic inch engine with a 10/71 blower sticking out from a black hood. And that is neither a Ford nor a Chevy.
Or a 1969 Camaro with a transplanted Gen 4 Coyote...
If that were true, folks would be doing the Dark Horse Whipple and simply adopting the GT500 cooling modifications.
It isn't that simple.
Note the speculation that the new Nurburgring time by the GTD was accomplished with a 1000 horsepower brought courtesy of . . . drum roll, please . . . a...
Eh. We get plenty of cold weather here in Georgia (contrary to most preconceived notions), and I put Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on mine when the Pirelli Trofeo RS tires wore out. I posted about my driving on them all the way down into the teens (Fahrenheit). I finally stopped posting...
Sigh.
"Just as fast" for how long? A quarter mile?
Without substantial modifications for removing engine oil heat and engine coolant heat, in addition to cooling the incoming air through the Whipple, it will not be "just as fast" after a few laps at Michelin Road Atlanta. It won't even be...
Stock Dark Horse is 500 horsepower. Drivetrain loss is not 20% (500 x .20 = 100, and 500-100 = 400). Maybe it makes more sense if I explain it that way?
And does everybody remember back in 2024 when all the wheel dynos were basically showing 420 whp?
And does everybody remember last...
414 sounds about right on for a stock Dark Horse. 420 or so, but this is a Mustang Dyno, not a Dynojet.
Add headers, get more.
Add intake (Cobra Jet with Boschma adapter plate), get more.
Add exhaust (get rid of of the stupid neck down to 2.25" at the resonator!), get more.
Add GSC R2...
As much as I love the A10 in my Dark Horse, the SC has the 7 speed DCT. There is a reason when you buy a Porsche or when you purchased a GT500 you got a DCT transmission.
There is no way that the Dark Horse will have the cooling available in the SC, and good luck trying to duplicate that.
I have never driven a Whippled Mustang. That was actually my original plan for the Dark Horse, until I discovered that bolting on a Whipple meant not even making it through...
