Continuing the microfiber care discussion, I have the following thread on this topic over at Mustang6g -
Microfiber Towel Care | 2015+ S550 Mustang Forum (GT, EcoBoost, GT350, GT500, Bullitt, Mach 1) - Mustang6G.com
The following are alternatives to Bowden's Microfiber Cleaner and P&S Rags to...
That's easily done! In fact, I already have dedicated threads on these topics.
This one I wrote for the beginner, it doesn't cover every single aspect of detailing, but its based around getting you started without the trial and error that most go through. Pick and choose what tools and products...
My routine of late has been to get a few things done in the morning, then jump in a car and go for a drive in the afternoon. Yesterday I picked up a GoPro head mount strap and was keen to get some footage of the new Mustang, nothing crazy, just a cruise and maybe a little squirt to showcase the...
My Waxit Black Friday purchase. Only realized after the purchase that I also needed another 4-litre of Reset.
It's also great to see new Carpro products launched for Sema are arriving in short order. WheelX is a iron remover type wheel cleaner, it offering more lubrication that IronX alone.
Simply huh. The way those guys were carrying on, you'd think the towels cost them their life savings and paying the extra for the correct detergent was just too much to bare.
The only notification I got from Ford like this was to say the car had been "Ordered", which was actually AFTER the car had been built. Got nothing else along the way. I don't know why Ford even bother with this if its not a consistent thing.
Microfiber towel care, specifically microfiber detergents, is a topic I recently had a little rant about another forum. To set the scene, a couple of guys were carrying on about how drying aids ruin expensive towels because they set up in the fibers and make them hydrophobic. This is a topic...
The Bowden's is what I used before Rags to Riches, its a great product. R2R is superior, mainly because it seems to better revive and maintain towel softness, but the Bowden's is by no means a poor choice.
Would this be an option?
P&S Rags to Riches - Premium Microfibre Towel Detergent –...
Ok, so I went for a little drive today and wow, Magneride paid for itself today!
Previous to today, my assessment of Magneride centered around how much it improves the ride quality in normal driving conditions. Sure, its still got an edge to it, but its much more refined than what I'm used to...
It's perfect for maintenance. In which case, I'd probably break out the Wet Coat every few months to help maintain the barrels and calipers, unless you want to remove the wheels that is.
I wish someone around here offered PPF, country living.
As for maintaining PPF, apart from a few precautions, you just treat it like paint. In other words, a pH neutral soap of your choice, then dry with your choice of air/towel/drying aid.
As for precautions, you just have to be careful...
My wheels are coated with ADS Wheel Coating and I use Amplify after each wash to wipe down the wheel faces. So it can be used on wheels, either as a topper or as a standalone. Just don't expect longevity as a standalone.
If you are not going to coat the wheels, I'd suggest Gyeon Wet Coat as...
It would take someone very uneducated or a hard task master to void a coating warranty from using high quality detailing products. They can't be serious about using a different towel, had to laugh at that.
I'm not sure of the exact details, but it's been suggested Gyeon and Carpro...
Heart & Soul!
There are a few prerequisites for me to like a car. Those would include exterior styling, exterior colour, the transmission type and, crucially, the engine and how it sounds. Ever since I helped my dad rebuild the engine on the lawn mower, I’ve been obsessed with engines, how they...
The bulk of my purchases are made via Detailing Shed and Waxit, between the two, they have me covered for just about everything. Detailing Shed in particular, I love the huge variety of products and brands, as well as not being afraid to introduce new items to keep things fresh.
The exception...
