I noticed late last week that my original CTEK MXS 3.6 wasn't actually charging the battery it was connected to, the Mustang. I have two chargers, this and a newer MXS 5.0. I connected the new one to the Mustang and it began charging, then pulse cycling as they are designed to do rather than a...
I've decided to give these Tempest towels another shot. Considering they are wrapped in Concours branded packaging, I'm guessing Waxit don't sell many of these as the Concours house brand was rebranded NV many years ago now...
Thanks for the video, I actually needed to watch this to double check my installation was correct regarding the BMS. Turns out my older CTEK 3.6 is not working as it should and hasn't been charging properly. Swapped it to the newer MXS 5.0 and I'm back in business.
I'm probably scared from...
Subaru Forrester Refresh
This vehicle is owned by one of my gardening clients. I’ve detailed this car many times, but it's been quite a while since I’ve touched it. I’m currently house sitting for them, so I thought I’d treat the Subaru to a refresh. With 108,000 km on the clock, there is some...
For anyone looking for a good drying towel that isn't from The Rag Company, these Tempest towels from Waxit are a great option, and on sale at the moment too. At full retail, the full size 65 x 40cm Tempest is lineball in price to a similar size Gauntlet (hybrid twist loop), while being about...
That's pretty much all I do too, although I use a dedicated towel and little waterless wash, but that's not really needed. Keeping an engine bay clean is easier than actually having to CLEAN an engine bay.
I thought I'd make a start on the Subaru today by knocking out the interior, allowing me to do the exterior closer to the owners return. What I thought would take me an hour ended up being a 3.5-hour marathon.
I'll do a full write up once I've done the exterior, so for now I'll let...
Every time I see an American trying Vegemite, they always try it out of the jar, not spread across something. I think just about every Aussie would say that is THE worst way to eat Vegemite. But spread on thin or thick on a piece of bread with butter, even better if combined with a slice of...
More Touch-less action today.....................
First up, the weekly wash of the Ranger. I've been parking this car outside over the last week as I'm currently house sitting for a gardening client. With no undercover parking, I probably wasted my time washing it, but I don't care.
As per...
The Wildtrak was in the box seat this morning. It's been cold, wet and miserable of late, so I had some work ahead of me, inside and out.
Starting out, I foamed everything bar the horizontal panels with Bilt Hamber Touch-less, wheels and wheel arches included. With the roof and hood not...
All new cars, regardless of brand and price paint, have paint defects. It's just what happens when something is mass produces. And that also applies to brands such as Porche and Bentley. The reality is, vehicles coming out of Ford's American factories are abysmally bad in terms of paint quality...
Turtle Wax canned the "Pro" line because they had a problem selling these products at premium prices. For most, Turtle Wax is an entry to detailing and therefore expect a certain (low) price point. Which is sad because from those who used the new generation products, they were supposed to be...
These were taken after the Ranger sat outside overnight in the rain. Forgetting that mental trauma for second, it at least left a pretty display of bead porn to admire.
The base coating is Gyeon Pure EVO, topped with God knows what at this point. :giggle:
Actually, I washed it on...

Compared to a touch up pen that you can still see the chip, this system differs in that you can flatten and level the applied paint to be smooth and virtually undetectable.
