  1. S650 Mustang launches in 2022 as 2023MY reveals Ford Linkedin post

I wonder how much freedom the design team will get if S650 is evolved from S550. Personally, I'd love a return to the "Dorito" rear 3/4 window :) (this one was actually a very early rendering from the S550 team)
  2. S650 Mustang launches in 2022 as 2023MY reveals Ford Linkedin post

Back when the Big 3 almost went under, Ford cancelled the GRWD (Global Rear Wheel Drive) platform that was either under development, or about to be. Whilst I can understand why they made this call at the time, I always felt that if they'd pushed ahead with that, they would have had some superb...
  3. S650 Mustang launches in 2022 as 2023MY reveals Ford Linkedin post

There's a reason the Mustang has always been a good seller...........practicality sells, even in the pony car market. Great trunk space and (just about) usable back seats mean this can be a car for multiple purposes. I often have my kids in the back, aged 15 and 10. It's been this way for 55...
  4. S650 Mustang launches in 2022 as 2023MY reveals Ford Linkedin post

This has now been picked up by the "big boys"!! https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/a30763592/new-mustang-s650-release-date/?src=socialflowFBRAT&fbclid=IwAR3NV5Q3XUf-NwtQRWcuOypYgGBjRmkNc-9gqp2wuF7dd40KOlRxHPaJtnk
  5. S650 Mustang launches in 2022 as 2023MY reveals Ford Linkedin post

Correct.....and this was from an interview with Ford when they announced there would only be 5 "architectures" going forwards: Mustang is still going to be a strong, well-proportioned vehicle," said chief designer Darrell Behmer. "The modular architectures will still give us flexibility; it's...
  6. S650 Mustang launches in 2022 as 2023MY reveals Ford Linkedin post

In all seriousness.........that hacked up mule is the Fusion/Mondeo replacement (although its using hacked up Focus panels/lights). It'll be a high riding wagon. Now, back to the S650 :sunglasses:
  7. S650 Mustang launches in 2022 as 2023MY reveals Ford Linkedin post

This is a great find, thank you for sharing. I'm amazed, given Ford's usual secrecy, that they'd put such specific info such as model years, launch dates and chassis codes in a job description, but I'm glad they have! :)
  8. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

Sounds like a typically uninformed dealer. Either they really are that ignorant or just trying to ensure the sale of a '19 GT. Either way, I wouldn't buy from them on principle.
  9. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

If you're looking to buy now, just do it and enjoy it. The '23MY is over 3 years away. That being said there might...........might be a refresh for the '21MY, but we know as much about that as we do the '23MY
  10. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

Sadly not. If you read through the 40-odd pages, you'll see the latest info put S650 as a '23MY, so revealed early 2022. I'll get excited once we start to see some mules, followed by prototypes, but we're probably still 12 months from seeing the former.
  11. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

No, nothing official, but a nice render I found online :like:
  12. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

https://www.automobilemag.com/news/ford-platforms-hau-thai-tang-interview/ Hau Thai-Tang: We shifted from nine platforms under One Ford to five flexible architectures. The first is unitized body, front-wheel drive/all-wheel drive. This underpins the new Focus just launched in Europe...
  13. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

I'm guessing if S650 is a '23MY, the styling will have been signed off by now? I hope more of the '69/'70 look makes it into S650 as those Fastbacks were the epitome of muscle Mustangs for me :sunglasses:
  14. Mustang Hybrid (S650) Announced, Debuts in 2020

"Still a couple of years away"..... The question still remains if they'd base it in the current S550, or a heavily revised/all new S650/CD6.
  15. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

:eyebulge: I remember Hau Thai-Tang (who held the role for the introduction of the S197) said, in A Faster Horse, something along the lines of "if you're a successful Mustang Chief Engineer you go on to do better things, if not you go on to do other things......." Looks aside (and familiarity...
  16. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

Some interesting information that was pointed out to me..... Does this mean Carl Widmann (current Mustang Chief Engineer) is being replaced? As I'm sure you know, Carl Widmann took over from Dave Pericak (Dave was Mustang Chief Engineer for the '15 S550......Carl then took over and delivered...
  17. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

    BEV? Blimmin' Electric Vehicle?
  18. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

I really like it, too. But then I'm an S197 owner and that, to me, looks like what an evolution of the S197 might have looked like. I don't think Ford will play the retro look again though.....although certain things I'd like to see return, like the hockey stick side design. But the '22MY needs...
  19. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

Whilst I'm glad Ford listen to feedback, I hope they don't feel the '18 MCA is a step back. I know many '15-'17 owners have been very vocal, but its natural for many owners of a current car (which they love) to be critical about any changes. Beauty is, after all, in the eye of the beholder...
