It's a little of both.
Yes, it's a good sign. They've run the order through Ford's systems; it is an achievable configuration they can build. No errors.
But now, you're waiting to be scheduled. :headbang:
Once the cars are built, they are placed in a semi-sleep state, aka "transport mode". One reason is to limit what the driver (trucker, rail operator, thief) can do with the car. Another reason might be to limit these electrical losses.
Further, after about two weeks, Ford vehicles by default go...
^ This, plus 1.
I recommend using the Internet Sales department at the dealer of interest.
Dealers often have an Internet Sales department, along with the traditional front office Sales. Internet Sales work via phone and e-mail, not on the sales floor.
If using the Ford web site, you can...
You're safe waiting to order until 2024 starts. Ford has extended this MY into 2024 to re-align the MY to where it traditionally sits in the Calendar Year. After the Holidays, late January 2024, might be a good time.
Rear Seat Delete...I checked the Order Guide I currently have, Ford, Googled...
Most buyers receive their VIN once the car has been scheduled for production.
After Ford receives an order and before the car is scheduled for production, Ford is gathering parts, scheduling assembly lines and workers for build dates.
Once the car is scheduled for production, Ford is committed...
Ford should confirm receipt of your order within 24 hours by sending you an email directly.
Reasons for not receiving an email:
1. Being sent to an account which no longer exists
2. Ad-blockers or anti-virus placing in spam
3. Dealer mis-types
4. Dealer uses their e-mail as contact, not yours...
I wouldn't consider an outdoor cover myself. Moisture trapping, varmint enticing and paint scratching being the primary concerns.
If kept primarily outdoors, I'd consider a ceramic coating or paint sealer. Other products could be used inside and out to protect rubber, plastics, vinyl and...
Regular changes/rotations of the color palette would be welcome.
- Old school colors, the originals, maybe in their own package
- Modern era colors we haven't seen in a while
- Special, one-off, one-year colors
The above, with some colors which always seem popular.
Mix it up and...
FWIW, I experienced this before and was covered by Price Protection.
You placed an order at a agreed-to price at that time. Ford later changes pricing on options you've selected. From that point forward, all of Ford's documentation (e-mails, window stickers, invoices, etc.) all update to that...
Several of us experienced tramlining in the Machs, but we attributed the issue to the Michelin Cup 2s when driving on the street. Replacing the Cup2s with a more suitable street tire resolved the issue. YMMV.
Keepsakes...consider cruising by the newsstands from time-to-time, to pickup any magazines with S650 reveals on the cover. They'd be a nice compliment to the car and any other documentation you might be saving.
I've read posts previously that Ford will not build or ship cars with Cup2 and Trofeo-like tires from Nov - Mar. I'm not aware of anyone receiving an HP-type car during these months. I'm reading one thread from April 2021. A Member had just received his HP Mach, ordered in January 2021...
Not to make light of the recent hail storms and anyone waiting, but any number of things can happen to a vehicle once built and en-route. Until the car is signed for at the dealer, it is the property of Ford. I do understand Members placed orders and put down deposits. I'd done same with mine...
Ford should acknowledge receipt of the order, typically within 24 hours after having been input. Reads like your order was placed. :like:
When you have a moment, check with the dealer and confirm your e-mail. 99% of the time, the dealer inputs incorrectly. Long-term, having the correct e-mail...
I'd have to study these products in greater detail. I'm not doubting their inhibiting properties, but I do wonder how effective their application is towards getting into all the unseen areas, the sections that receive and accept water that eventually drips away or evaporates off.
You're...
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/tracking-a-car-shipped-by-rail.171683/
Above is a thread for those interested in tracking. I previously opened an account (since closed) with United Road. At the time anyway, they allowed me to track without issue until it arrived.
Dealers can also...
My car is stored from Nov - Apr. Salt and rust are one consideration. Sand and rocks the other.
My daily is a Tacoma which has served me very well. As nice as I take care of it, the Winter elements have taken their toll. Not a flake of body rust but many areas of the panels have simply been...
With respect to any automatic, there is a learning mode occurring, especially during break-in. Drive modes, if available, will also impact shifting. Not saying it's not a possible issue, but one review does not a trend make.
Let's see what happens once these units are properly broken-in with...
It is good practice to confirm with the dealer you will not be accepting any add-ons, other than those already agreed to in writing.
It's unfortunate, but some dealers either automatically do things to the car as part of a standard practice or sneak things in and do not tell the client until...
For those ultimately receiving the wheel lips, when they arrive at the Parts Department, they'll have your VIN on the box sticker. I was at one extreme: they arrived about a week after receiving the car. At the other, supply chain delays have caused them to arrive sometimes 60+ days afterwards...
