  1. 4500 rpm limiter

I've adjusted and later gone through :giggle:mine a few times. While the indicator will light up and beep to announce it's time to shift, on the '22 , it does not act as a limiter. From Page 97 of the 2022 Owners Manual: Shift Indicator (If Equipped) Illuminates to inform you that shifting...
  2. Oil drain plug replacement brand recommendations?

Attached is a photo highlighting what I believe you're referring to. Overall, the bellypan of the S550 Mach 1. Inside the blue circle is an access port, a flap, several square inches, tens of centimeters square. The flap or port is secured by a single bolt, circled in yellow. With the bolt...
  3. Oil drain plug replacement brand recommendations?

https://www.uprproducts.com/upr-ford-easy-oil-drain-valve-for-mustang-f150-raptor-edge-explorer-bronco/ I installed my UPR plug last season. Well-made. I'll be changing the oil soon and expect things to go great. *The product highlighted above supports the Gen 3. IDK if it supports the Gen 4...
  4. Anyone else? Caliper paint wearing / peeling offf

I'd hesitate to do so until the root cause is determined and a fix presented. We've seen what appears to be the same issue on at least two cars, a problem which the warranty will cover. Making any mods, however slight, would void any support Ford could afford an Owner, now or in the future. YMMV.

  7. 4500 rpm limiter

For perspective on the self-imposed 4000 RPM limit while breaking-in, a quote, from the article posted earlier. Dustin Hawley | Sep 07, 2022 https://www.jdpower.com/cars/shopping-guides/do-you-need-to-break-in-a-new-engine "Avoid Pushing The Engine Too Hard The most common temptation with a...
  8. Problems Already

For those cars which are not a DD, wiring in a tender is a great and welcome first mod.
  9. 4500 rpm limiter

Have you consistently encountered this? I'm not aware of a limiter operating at that RPM. You're the first I think to raise the issue. Some were questioning the engine rev limiter in the 7000+ RPM range, but that was the expected, factory limiter.
  10. Where does it say there is a 1000 mile break in period?

I do realize this is dated, but from the 2022 manual, page 231: "Your vehicle requires a break-in period. For the first 1,000 mi (1,600 km), avoid driving at high speeds, heavy braking, aggressive shifting or using your vehicle to tow. During this time, your vehicle may exhibit some unusual...
  11. Anyone changed gear lube in Torsen 3:55 rear end? -- What gear lube and weight? Friction modifer?

Unless you're doing something very unique, I'd leave things as-is and wait. The factory fill should support you just fine. No one has reported issues with the oil or pumpkin. No one has reported any advantages if replacing so early. While the internals of the diff are seating and wearing, the...
  12. Rear wheel chirping noise

Is that coming from inside the car? Is it consistent, like playing cards in bike spokes? Or only occasionally? Is the car otherwise driving OK? Get under the car with a torch, check along the drivetrain. Sometimes, factory tags can come loose, especially along the driveshaft, wheels, anything...
  13. Advice to anyone looking in person.

With the exception of a few enthusiast dealers and salespeople, this ^ + 1.
  14. Make sure you get credit for your deposit!

Glad to read you noticed and got the issue corrected. A lot of factors, a lot of people, went into making the deal, creating the documents and tabulating the final bill. It's a collaborative effort. Could have been a new person on the job, a process in need of adjustment or someone being...
  15. Got my 2024 GT today, here's my novice takeaway, questions, and issues.

With respect to break-in, my previous comments follow. At a few thousand miles, I've had no issues. Initial oil analysis, mileage, fluids, temps, etc., confirm all is well. The topic elicits a wide range of comments. This worked for me. YMMV.
  16. Got my 2024 GT today, here's my novice takeaway, questions, and issues.

Congrats on taking receipt of your car. - Popping is normal, more so when in other, sportier modes - Parts like this often come from other locations and are sent directly to the parts department. Sometimes they arrive before or when the car does. Often, not. What is shipped will be...
  17. Strike

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/08/stellantis-offers-pay-increase-to-uaw-days-before-possible-strike.html An offer from Stellantis. 14.5% pay bump for non-temp workers with a $10.5K bonus spread over four years. 14.5% divided by four is 3.63%, essentially matching inflation, but no actual pay...
  18. DIY: how to remove hydrocarbon filters from 2024 Mustang GT / Dark Horse

    1. With respect to the Gen 3s, no. Removing the filter only, with no further mods to the tubing, the engine fuel trims adjusted to compensate, while leaving some further adjustment available. Testers did find on the 2022 Mach 1, that by removing a second inner tube with the filter, fuel trims...
  19. DIY: how to remove hydrocarbon filters from 2024 Mustang GT / Dark Horse

On the Gen 3s, doing so was documented to gain a quick 10HP, minimum. Some reported as much as +20 HP.
  20. 1,000 Mile Break-In Complete

Congratulations on reaching that milestone. I'm not aware of any programmed limits that expire after 1000 mi / 1600 km. There are suggested driving styles within the Owner's Manual. For example, 6G cars were often advised not to perform any track time or WOTs until past 100 mi / 160 km. And...
