It needed to be half second quicker, better block, heads, cams, intake, DISPLACEMENT ffs.
And itās neck and neck with a stock GT (dark horseās conundrum)
They would have needed to run 11.5s at 122 plus off the showroom floor and preferably a tenth or 2 quicker than that.
and Iām not sure a...
A porche 911 GT2 Is marketed as a track car (and is)
It also rips off 9 sec 1/4s stock, same with McLarenās etc..
thatās more my point, build a track car by all means⦠it still needs to perform.
No, weāre in America.
1/4 mile is the 1. Standard metric we use.
itās not overblown at all⦠it IS the point
itās why the gt350 was such a dud, ford can build a badass track car ⦠fine⦠it still needs to put down respectable 1/4 mile times
The GT350 was D.O.A.
They are supposed to announce something in July.
Frankly day late and a dollar short.
we live in the instant gratification world now, theyāve made themselves irrelevant rather quickly, saleen as well.
they needed to be hyping products LAST July for when cars were beginning to rollout.
I would think there will be something some point soon, but I would expect it to cost more than a whipple kit.
no reason whipples tune shouldnāt get cloned somehow and youāre gonna be limited to the same injectors/load scaling.
just speculation but thatās how I could see it playing out.
I want to add, the drive ability is basically stock or better, all modes. With the exhaust on quiet and the windows cracked youāll get a hint of sweet sweet compressor sound ⦠but thatās it.
Iām told the more you pulley it down youāll get a little more but I have no need to.
the 1st thing...
The only other issue I had was my heat exchanger brackets that mount to the posts they give you needed to be clearanced/slotted a bit.
it did take me awhile, I must be slow, did the install alone except for a 2nd set of hands to lower the blower in place.
off to do some light road testing and...
Put a few more hours in today, i had to make a few trips to the store for, anti seize, silicone lube spray, loctite and 1/4ā 10mm swivel, i needed to get a 27mm socket too, but i probably couldāve just used my crescent in hindsight.
with the exception of putting the lower on Iāve done this all...
I work in paint shop, orange peel is literally part of the process for reasons stated above.
Ford is far more worried about any sealer being left in a visible spot or finger and handprint's getting baked in and painted, also issues with drips, runs, excessive dirt, boil outs, bad phosphate etcā¦...
Because the passenger side is the same.
In a GT Halfshaft there is a taper in the metal towards the knuck⦠thatās where they snap
(Only on the driver side thought, no taper on passenger.
And the 350!axle is straight with no taper also, plenty of 8 and 9 second cars on a 350 driver side.
Sent whipple my tune req file at 1am in the morning. They just sent my tune already.
So they are on top of business
also ordered a griptech 3.5 pulley and pnp bap.
Seems like returns diminish going much smaller than that from every dyno/ dragy test Iāve been seeing.
Talk about damned if they do/if they donāt
people bitch incessantly about fords ālack of quality etcā¦. Ford does a random post prod quality check and gaspā¦. People need to make something of that also.
