I bought a very early VIN 2013 Focus ST in late 2012; lasted about 3 months on the OEM Dust Storm pads; before swapping them out for Centric ceramics. Eventually I upgraded to Powerstops (rotors, calipers, and pads [Kevlar/carbon I think]).
Traded the ST in on a 2016 Focus RS in March of...
@Skye great write up! +1
@roadpilot ---I was vexed for years with throwing our half cases of beer. Sadly 😢 this compulsive, expensive, and counter productive behavior was the result of conditioning by and role modeling on my Dad; who engaged in it during and after my formative years...
@Zengineer --right there with ya on the "paint it" sentiment! If I could afford them (I can't); CF wheels would be the only exception to that sentiment for me.
I'm also retired and drive about 5500 miles per year. Had my catch can installed in my Focus RS in mid May of 2022. Checked it for the first [confident or stupid? You be the judge!] time about a month ago. Shoot! There was maybe a table spoon of oil in it.
Looks nice, but I'm not a fan of aluminum (or any hard conductive material for that matter) for shifter knobs. Cold in the winter and hot in the summer.
Hope you get one if you like it!
Sadly; like any "strap on" technological solution to what in reality is a human behavioral issue (e.g. pedestrian general lack of situational awareness---exacerbated by CCPS [chronic cell phone syndrome]); I'm afraid our Mustang's Pedestrian Alert Lights will have little to no positive affect...
Not really a rant. More like the sad truth about our current state of electronic modernity.
Quick! Someone que up Blue Oyster Cult's "the Machine".
Nailed it! +1
The thing is; no matter what we advise, or what you choose; only YOU will have to live with the consequences; good or ill.
Best of luck with whatever choice you make!
I had a Livernois Motorsports catch can on my RS (traded in on my GT). They mounted it in a good location right up front in the engine bay. Very easy to hand tighten and remove.
Easy to see why factories don't put them on as OEM though. They circumvent the mandated PCV system.
Routing...

@Kabayo good suggestion on the powder coat option; except for that wouldn't...
Just got off the phone with my Ford Dealer's Parts Dept. You're spot on with that 987 number! $1046/ea with 6% MI sales tax! YIKES! He also told me Ford doesn't/won't tell them what weight or off set is?! WTBleep?!
Yea, the OEM replacement cost, is just a reference point for me. No...
Sssssooooo I posted this elsewhere in the forum, but I'll repeat it here (where I should have posted it to begin with).
2024 GT with Brembo brakes; OEM 20 x 9 wheel offset and weight?
Don't like the silver or multi spoke design the car came with. Going to replace them with a less busy...
TY! OUCH!!
Figured they were pricey, the last time I priced an OEM Ford wheel (2016 Focus RS forged 19 x 8) they were $999!
If I price my GT wheels to sell I guess I can afford nicer wheels at the Tire Rack than I thought!:crackup:
I'll call the Tire Rack tomorrow and ask if they...
Just bought my Rapid Red '24 GT off my dealers lot. Can't say as I care for the silver colored 20 x 9 multi spoke wheels it came with. I've spied a couple of gloss black replacement candidates at the Tire Rack, and haven't been able to locate any info on 20 x 9 OEM weight or price.
Anyone...
