You mean like the Busmaster M4 I used in Afghanistan, or the Colt M4 I was used in Iraq (Or any of the M249s, or M240s I was issued for that matter)? 😉 They all had plastic forearms, not metal.
Of course they gott hot under sustained fire, but not like a metal forearm would; which is why...
"plastic will get just as hot". I guess that must be why the modern standard for military firearm forearms/hand guards is thermoset plastic and not aluminum? 😉 In any event; the Steeda tube is silicone rubber not plastic, so I'm not getting what your point is.
Yes, aluminum loses heat more...
Let me add (as it is worth mentioning and I didn't in my first post); I'm glad to see Steeda retained the closed OEM air boxes. I view such a design as essential to isolating the filter from heated engine compartment air, and it is difficult at best to see how other CAI systems can achieve that...
Nicely done and well presented video. Good sales feature to offer the system without filters! Though I did not see a filterless system offered/price on your site. The system appears very well thought out, engineered, and fabbed/machined.
Nevertheless; bang per buck remains a concern.
$675...
Great deal and looking Mustang! Congrats!
@smurfslayer --is right. Thank God I was wearing polarized sun glasses when I looked at your OP! I might have sustained some sort of eye damage from the shine coming off those tires! 😆
I also bought a wheel/tire package from LMR.com. I dropped down from the OEM 20 x 9 wheel size to 19 x11 and 19 x 10 with 305 & 285 tires. Like @Mr Hyde ---my package came with wheels, tires, were very well balanced, 2024 TPMS, lug nuts/wrench & incld shipping. I bought gloss black wheels...
@98jfuentes --STOP! You've intimidated me! I'm leaving mine alone except for maybe swapping out the sub. I can probably handle that without 🤬ing things up.....................maybe.
The AD splitter I ordered from Ford Performance. they were the cheapest, and about $140 less than the most expensive. The badges were Amazon or Ebay (can't remember which). About $25 as opposed to about $180 for black OEM replacements.
OK......................bit belated [I am a slacker 😔] but here's the pics of my DAR rear wing; Air Design splitter.......................and my newly acquired SVE R355 19 x 11 and 19 x10 wheels with Nitto tires.
Oh yea......................and my cheapo furrin' badges.
Dang! I don't know...
If you haven't already done so; you should take your Mustang back to the shop that did the install and alignment for an inspection, assessment, and possible repair. And, by all means as the others have suggested; contact Steeda Customer Support.
Depends on how much snow and ice you get.
I ran Conti EC DWS Plus 06s on my RS the 3 years I had it. Of course the RS is AWD rather than RWD, so comparing that to a GT isn't exactly apples to oranges. Having said that; I'll endorse the Contis as the best all seasons I've ever driven on. Dry...
Depends on your dealer and more importantly; the Techs that will actually do the work. I'm going to do my own, but my dealer's Fast (Quick Lane---whatever) Lane guys always did right by me for the 3 years I owned my RS. Wouldn't hesitate to have them do my GT's change if I felt like it...
Just got my ZL 1 Addon jack pads. Man! Are these things light compared to the steel full length Steeda jacking rails I had on my Focus RS. With the two set screws to hold them in place; they'll be a cinch to move back and forth along the GT's pinch weld if I need to. 👍
Fair enough--can't argue with the points you make.
Let me be clear; I have no complaint about Ford pad performance or feel at the brake pedal---that goes for the ST, RS, and GT. The excessive dust sucks though, and if Ford can offer brake system options; pad options shouldn't be too much...
Yea, I'm happy with mine............................here comes the "but". But, I bought it off the lot due to the estimated 6-8 month build time; which would have pushed my order into the '25 model year and what I figured (rightly so as it turned out) would be a price increase over the '24 I...
