That is the whole point though which some on here fail to grasp. Things move on, designs get refined and developed, we are not still in 1970!

To be honest the current simple S/S system on the Mustang is rapidly falling out of favour now with either ISG's or full hybrid systems so the whole wear thing becomes a complete non-issue. That was an interesting link - we have smart signalling systems for traffic lights in the UK in some...

Using VDASH? Unfortunately on newer Volvo's if you make any changes using third party software when Volvo next connect to the car it blocks access and has to be reset.

Anything used in excess (beyond design spec) will suffer from the same wear and failures. Excess for a S/S car is a much higher value than for a non S/S car because of the way it is designed.

Whatever you do don't get the dealer to do it! The small support battery is about ÂŁ50 if you buy an aftermarket one. Even an OEM one is only ÂŁ100 from a parts supplier.

As per my earlier link the answer is that as long as the systems are designed for S/S then all is well.

It isn't about you and gas mileage (although it is a secondary benefit) it is about environmental pollution both locally and globally. lots of small changes add up to a big effect.

S/S 10R80's have an additional electric oil pump that acts when the engine isn't running. Plus there was a delay in S650 manufacturing in Job 2 when the S/S version of the Coyote was delayed, they were only making Ecoboosts for a while. I'm not sure if Windsor supply the engine plus transmission...

It isn't just design it is the practicality. The 10R80 was modified for stop start cars, do they really want to fit two different versions of the transmission knowing that export models still need it? What happens next year when the Mid-terms show a potential change of direction again? Car...

Don't worry it isn't your car and I'm pretty sure the OP really doesn't care what you think so no need to keep repeating your opinion.

Looks like the EPA are doing away with the fuel credits in the US. I doubt carmakers will change much as the systems are required elsewhere in the world plus political fads change very quickly in the US, far quicker than car design lead times.

There are a few on here who like to express their 'freedom of speech' no matter what. Ignore button works well

Indeed it started in Job 2 for the US but not at the start of Job 2 as far as I can remember. There are other changes such as the 10R80 transmission oil pump that are different with S/S

Nothing wrong with a printed manual, trouble is most people never get them out of the cellophane wrapper so a total waste printing them. RTFM is a common retort!
