I have the same noise leaving my driveway.
Will try lowering the seats.
To me it sounds like it is coming from further back than the seats
It started not long after I installed new wheels and wider tires, not sure if that was a coincidence or not.
@DRKKNITE if it's in the budget get a second set of rims and put high performance A/S for the cold months. I had Continental extreme contact DWS plus installed on the original rims, but there are many choices out there. Also I plan to bring the PS4S inside the house for the winter.
I agree with what was said about switching to the PS4S, they tamed the tramlining completely on my Dark Horse handling pkg. Even after installing wider than stock size tires.
The only thing I would worry about are temperatures below 45F.
The tread becomes very hard and Michelin says they may...
@ Junkyard Dog yes, those are the Trofeo's. I replaced them with Contintals after the first week. It's cold here in December and when I was turning in a parking lot at around 3 mph they were skipping sideways.
@Junkyard Dog, watched a few videos of the different width tires on the same width rim. One good one was the mazda miata. The rear wheels I chose are only 1/2" narrower than recommend by the manufacturer. My opinion is the extra 3.2 inch extra width of tread more than offsets any loss of grip...
Another thing to think about is rim width. I went with a 19x11 front and
19x11.5 rear. Recommend rim width for a 355mm tire is 12-13". Using a narrowed rim causes the tire to not spread out as much, keeping it from touching the suspension and not sticking out past the fenders.
Is it ideal, no...
I have a 24 Dark Horse with the handling pkg.
I ended up putting continental extreme contact DWS 06 plus on factory rims size 285/35/19 Front and rear for temperatures below 45 degrees. For warmer temperatures i bought a set of GTD replica wheels and use size 325/30/19 Front and 355/30/19...
I think we are all car enthusiasts here,it just depends on what you are looking for.
When I started to look for a retirement gift for myself I narrowed it down to a
C8 ( no manual no back seat)
M2 ( 6 cylinder and body "styling" )
Early 2000's 911 (parts and engine power)
Gt 500 (price and...
The car tracks down the road better than with the factory tires ( Pirelli Trofeo RS)
I like the look of the 355's and the extra 40 mm per side is good for traction. Also I plan to install headers and a supercharger. Here is pic of sidewall. I'm not sure how to get a picture of clearance...
Just a quick update, the 355's rear and 325's front fit without rubbing or sticking out past the fenders. In the front they are very close to the struts, but after 200 miles no rubbing so far. I haven't pushed it past .7g's so I may need a 10mm spacer in the front. We will see.
