I had a bright red Challenger Scat Pack 392. I often had cops stay glued to my rear bumper for miles hoping I would make a mistake while they ran my plate number. Mustang GT in Grabber Blue never happens....
I would have kept it but at 6 ft 4 and aged 76 with HORRIBLE knees (knee replacement is loose in my left knee) and right one is a mess, I just could not get out of the car. My GT is 80% of the fun and a 1/3 of the price. I really should have kept my super roomy Scat Pack Challenger...
I bought a new Porsche 911 in 2021 for $107K. Just sayin'....I came to my senses and sold it in 2024 for a $9K profit and got a new 24 GT manual for $42K. Happy with that V8 growl.
I knew the party was over when my knee replacement came loose and the other knee was shot as well. Once I fell into the 911 I was OK....getting out was brutal. The S650 is a little easier but still a pain. Really hard part was giving up motorcycles...
Bought a new Porsche 911 in 2021 (now sold due to bad knees and 6' 4" tall) and the break-in was 2000 miles at or below 4000 RPM. The computer keeps track of RPM "events" and it is a known fact that engine warranties have been voided due to multiple runs up past redline during or after break-in.
If it was out of warranty I would get touch up paint and fill that hole with small strokes of the brush over a few days allowing each to harden. Then when the level is high enough wet sand with 1000 grit then 2000 grit and rub out by hand with fine compound then hand polish to perfection. 13...
I bought a new Porsche 911 in 2021. Sold it to a PORSCHE Dealer 6 months ago for 9K more than I paid for it. Bought a new Challenger Scat Pack 392 in 2016 for 37,500 sold it 8 years later for $34K. Both were garage queens. 911 had only 7K in options and the Scat Pack had zero options. 3800 miles...
I have found that art resale time (Not Trade In) that most folks do not want to pay for a loaded car. They want all the goodies of course but usually these lowballers are all about the price and miles. It is ALL about the price. I buy them nearly stripped, get a discount and sell with super low...
Thanks so much for your excellent reply. My car is basically a garage queen taken out every week or so just for a bit of back road fun and very little highway. usually less than brief 90 mph pulls to get it warm and then lots of running thru the gears at lower than 4500 RPM. In this situation...
My local dealer will put in SEMI Synthetic oil unless you specify 100% FULL synthetic oil. I have found a way around the high oil temps. Turn on your A/C ideally before and during as well as after hard driving. The fan will come on and reduce your temp by at LEAST 10 degrees. I run my 6 speed up...
