I just found a thread that Xpel representative replied to in a forum and said you can apply ppf over ceramic as long as the installer knows how to do it with a ceramic coated paint. Ideally you want the film first and ceramic second.
That’s interesting. Ours recommended the exact opposite. I wanted ceramic first and was told it may interfere with the PPF holding up and I’d be wasting money on the coating as it would be covered by the PPF. Obviously there’s different opinions on this process from the professionals.
A brush should get that off as well. Ceramic coating won’t keep that from sticking to the car and a pressure washer won’t remove it whether it’s ceramic coated or not. If it was sticky then a sponge or towel is the only option.
I like the brushes as I can get the tips behind the honeycombs...
That bottom pic looks a little big. The first two I don’t think you can do anything with those. Safelight is free in my state for rockchip repairs. I’d call them and see what they say if it’s bothering you.
Top down at 100 and no windshield vibration that I noticed. It was only to get around some slower cars so it wasn’t at that speed for more than a few seconds
I like the sound as well. Just loud enough to hear but not so loud the cop two miles down the road can’t hear you getting on it. I have cops all around me in Florida and they don’t play around with cars having “fun” on the streets. Also, I’ve had my loud exhaust vehicle days and I’m more of...
Much cheaper than the overpriced aftermarket rip off exhaust kits available. I wasn’t sure I wanted this option until I saw the aftermarket kit prices. 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
As others stated, PPF needs to go on a clean paint, not coated. You will have problems later. The ceramic coating needs a cure time as well. A day to a week sometimes. PPF then ceramic coat the PPf if you want extra protection. Either way you will need to use a water spot remover or similar...
That’s a hell of a price. Full car coverage by me cheaply is $5500 for low quality pre cut. We paid over $7,000 but we also got some extras with the full coverage.
I have ceramic coated so it is easier to clean off everything but I use a soft flagged tipped brush. Works like a charm and takes me only a minute or two to go over the front of the car.
Unless you get your car with zero to a couple of miles on it, it’s been beat on during test drives. Agree with others above, once the oil is up to temp just drive it. Don’t baby it.
There’s definitely something on the lcd screen. I’m not sure what it’s made of but it’s not the lcd screen itself. You are correct that glass is difficult to scratch with a finger or cloth. Im leaning towards some shatter proof protection that is required for crashes. I’m curious if other...
Not the greatest angle but it covers all but a small portion of it. This side still holding strong after 2000 miles or so but the other side came off recently.
I’ll either go the flex tape route or the DIY van route. Most likely the van kit as it’s a permanent fix and looks more professional...
That stinks.
Maybe it was only the international model that did. I had several friends that drove these cars and you are correct, they could take a beating.
Most name brand oils will perform well for your car. It’s how much more do you want? Frequent oil changes and a good filter make more difference than using this brand or that brand.
Without getting technical, some engines do a little better with certain oils over others. For 99% of people...
